I have this system on my '23 m340i X, sounds great, and I am looking to pair it with a dp for more sound even. The only downside on the newer models is the wiring and power for the valve controller. There are really two ways you can go at this if you don't have a trunk power outlet (23s don't come with them). You can either route the wire from the box from the trunk to the cupholders near the driver's seat and plug it into the cig outlet, or valvetronics suggested tapping it onto another accessories power. The guy who installed mine went with routing the cable to the front cupholders, and it works great. However, the cable is visible for people in the back seats because there isn't really a good way to completely hide the cable

Dinan is cat-back only. This is a mid-pipe and cat-back, that’s difference number one. And I’m not sure how it’s the same design at all haha… I’ve driven cars with both and I can promise they sound nothing similar. In terms of the valves, some people don’t want OE integration - I like the ability to keep them closed when I want at startup etc, and have full control of the valves. All preference

I'm quasi in the market for an exhaust and this was somewhat promising to me, but I'm not down with welding the tips on (even though I have a welder). I was trying to think if I would be defensive if I made a review and some people were dogging me for it.
I dunno. I don't think I would. I made a post of the 6" MST high-flow cat that I did for Mike@xph (it was damn near the first post I made) and I didn't really have any negative comments about it. But, I 100% don't think I would have cared if I did . I did the install, did the review, and Mike hooked me up. The end. |

Dope write up OP. Having had my Dinan muffler replaced for valve rattle and staring down the barrel of having to get it replaced again (if support can get their head out of their ass), this may be the direction I end up going.
