I'm tuned but really wanna update to 2023 firmware, I'm on 2021 atm. I just like being up to date on stuff for the small improvements, etc.

fwiw i'm the same and always want the latest features etc. and i spent a couple hours finding a way to get the latest 7/2023 version (from 7/2021). now i finally got it and nothing changed. i don't think you are missing anything.

i wish they would bring the idrive8 theme down to id7 or other themes because id7 is the ugliest UI i've seen.

I have 11/2021.40 software on my 2021 m340i. Is there no way of unlocking the dme?

For infor, ordered it in europe and already received it. Unlock successfull on my 2019 m340i (Software was updated OTA to a 2022 version that locked the DME).

My understanding that the 2021 or newer will need the DME sent off to be unlocked.

Mission might be a better option unless you want to flash MHD software as well because MHD require the license to flash as well, like I said makes sense if you want to flash MHD software but not if you want BM3
