First post here. I was assigned a week 45 production date and my status changed to "Production Begins" on 10/25. Not sure if this means it's starting production early or if it's just sitting in the queue until week 45. Can't wait to drive my first BMW!

Yes, it means the production has started for your car. See my post above for time reference but YMMV.

Mine completed production on September 10 and is still sitting at the factory. Clearly deliveries to Australia take a lot longer to organise.

Same since October 4th. I thought over 3 weeks was bad, I cannot believe you've been waiting for over 5 and it is still stunning there.

Weird reversal today

I watched my ship come into NY yesterday and my BMW app changed from in transit back to at the port, i.e., it went from step 14 (15 is "at the dealership") backwards to step 13.

This happen to anyone else??

Yes, this is normal. See my post on top of this page.

Car was driven a total of 4 miles and is still at the dealership. Am I crazy for wanting to be compensated for this nonsense? It’s really ruined the excitement and energy of a new car delivery.

Nope, not crazy. They should compensate you for not doing their due diligence with P.D.I. I will be on the edge this Thursday after seeing your experience.

I had to assist the tow truck driver in getting my car off the truck because it was completely dead and had no power steering while he pushed from the hood as I backed it into a spot. This was right after I had it detailed and coated. It’s frustrating to spend $70,000 and be gaslit by the dealership, who downplays the situation.

Naturally, they won’t admit fault and will likely blame the manufacturer instead. I’ve filed a complaint with BMW corporate over the phone, but I haven’t received any response yet..

I don’t blame you. I’d be furious if this happened to me.

My car has been at the port for 6 weeks now. It has a repair order for a ground cable/wire. I wonder if it’s to prevent this scenario from happening.

Keep us posted. I hope your car gets repaired quickly and they compensate you.

FYI

If you don't already know, build week is the week of completion.

My build week was week 39 (9/22) and car was at the port 9/25

I hope you get somewhere with corporate since this is a matter of safety. I complained to corporate after I waited for 3 months for my MY2024 build and it was delivered with paint imperfections all over. They did not help at all and kept telling me to work with the dealer. Corporate did nothing at all to fix the matter or expedite a new build. In your case, I would not lay down like I did. Push back since it is a matter of safety and concern about the reliability of your $70k purchase.

FYI, I see financing was discussed earlier in this thread. I haven't been quoted an APR yet but have been told by my salesman that BMWs rate right now will be much lower than the 4.49 at USAA. Hopefully that means 2.99. That would be awesome!

I locked in 2.99% APR with BMW Financial earlier this month.

Happy to report my car went to 150 Production Begins today and I finally have a VIN. prodDate is 2014-11-14. Is that when I can expect it to be done with the factory and staged for transport?
