It's sounds like it has ITBs from the induction noise.

With certain exhausts, yes. But heard some with a proper exhaust it's glorious. To me, the S55 is the worst sounding M3 engine ever. Doesn't matter what exhaust you have on it, it sounds like a lawnmower.

This is why I said the words stock exhaust. No doubt that with a proper exhaust and CSL intake it is glorious.

Stock for stock exhaust note, I'll take S55 all day every day which I drive daily and I like it with the flaps open. But the more you modify the S55, the worse it sounds, especially with aftermarket downpipes and burble tune.

Best-sounding turbo BMWs are the 335is and 1er M, imho.

I had both, the M3 E46 and F80 and prefer the E46 stock exhaust sound (while the E92 was my favourite regarding the exhaust sound).

You guys realize this isn't BMW sending out teasers, right? I mean if you don't want to see updates, you don't have to follow the thread. But are you really complaining to BMW that enthusiasts are taking videos when it's spotted? I don't get it.

It's following the normal timeline for release. The current F82 M4 is not even out of production yet and BMW released the F80 and F82 at the same time. So if they follow that same strategy, which it seems that they are, the pair will be revealed together only after the F82 is out of production later this year.

'Tis the paradox that is the forum(s). Enthusiasts at track recording a hotly debated vehicle and posting it for those of us who are able to view it ourselves being lambasted by self prescribed car guys and track junkies. Go figure!

I'm inclined to agree as far as stock sound goes. With no exhaust upgrades I loved the sound of my 335is.

Still get excited seeing the G8x go around the 'ring. Looks so stable while cornering.

If this gen turns out like another ugly chick with an annoying, flatulence, habit, lots of fan boys will be disappointed.
Improving stability and ring times is par for the course but it should not come at the expense of aesthetics and induction/exhaust ///Music.

Bonus points: build an NA motor like Porsche manages to do with their GT division...

Agreed with this. New G Series M3 seems more a grocery-getter than a sports car. It's just too big to be a sports car.

The S54 can sound good with the right bolt ons, the S55 CANNOT and the new B58/S58 sounds like a turbo in-line 6 should right out of the box! They are probably are gonna sound like 2JZGTEs once the bolt ons, turbos and tunes start getting thrown at them.

I don't know where this come from, but I love how it looks!

By the time the G80 is out, I can swap my F80! Or keep my F80, I love my car.

The S58 is a beast of an engine, I have seen the X4 busting a McLaren from a dig (maybe the driver slept on the line!), but that's what BMW has been doing lately.

M5 Competition with performance comparable to more expensive cars. The M8 has great performance even with a few pounds/kgs more! The example of the X4. All their M cars have been competing and doing great, I expect nothing less from the M3/4.

I know many things are under the microscope, like the change to automatic from the DCT. But I'm expecting a great car even with the changes that doesn't appeal as much.

I just saw the video of it driving in Los Angeles (Glendale). Funny part is, I saw that same exact car a few months ago testing. I also remember them testing the F80 back in 2013 in Glendale. The dimensions on the car looked great in person! Now let's hope they don't mess up the grills.

If your statement meant you hope the car won't have the large grilles we all know are coming, then from your perspective the car is messed up already.
