I agree with the OP. I can't see how anyone would claim the F30 has better steering than the G20. The F30 has become notorious for poor steering. It was so bad I avoided the F30 altogether. Instead I replaced my E90 with an Alfa Romeo Giulia which has fantastic steering (well about as fantastic as electronic steering can get without a porsche badge on the front).
When I got my Alfa I figured I check and see how the G20 turned out and decide whether BMW was truly dead to me or not. I drove the G20 a couple of months ago and was very pleasantly surprised by the driving dynamics and the steering. Both are much improved over the F30. So much so that I will be coming back to BMW in a week or two. |

Appreciate the review. But there are several small things that I can't get over...
1. Lack of a manual 2. Start/stop in center console 3. Electronic parking brake 4. Completely digital cluster 5. Door open/close on doors instead of center console These "evolutionary" steps make me look at the car and it just doesn't remind me of the BMW's I grew up with. It's like an entirely different brand now. |

What setting did you drive it into? Comfort is really "lame" in terms of steering feel and weight, but Sport Plus was pretty good, a lot more feedback and directness when compared to the F30. The car is awesome, full of tech features too. I will conceed that the W205 C Class drives pretty similarly, but since the W204 chassis, MB has improved quite substantially in terms of dynamics, just their engines are unimpressive (except AMG's and now the new C300) |
