"Hello BMW" Assistant Fail

Has anyone experienced the failure of the BMW Assistant? If so, how did you correct this issue? My voice input stopped working, ie will not take commands or allow audio to or from phone (iPhone)….

Is there a way to reboot w/o loosing all the car's settings? Nav voice (directions) ok.

If it concerns the 2009 (in your profile) it might be different, but in iD7 (G22 etc) you restart the system by keeping the volume knob pressed (IIRC >30s). Settings are retained.
