Why does the valve only open when in movement? Has it some special reason related to keeping the engine warm or something like that? Do u know if it's safe to open it permanently?
It can be opened in park too.

Can you tell me how? Even with Xtraboost ON, it didn't open.

Is it safe to keep it permanently open? I mean, may it be a problem to the car performance or there may be only problems with environment/sounds laws?

BMW - Open/Close Exhaust Valve

There are posts of people forcing it open then unplugging the valve controller.

On 330e is not working.
Interesting the two cars would be that different just for a valve controller. It still doesn't open in park if idled for a minute then maximum AC?

I test a lot. Also we check in DYNO, when the speed of car 100-200km/h and flaps is still open only for 20%.

Does your car still sound this loud and nice? what software version do you have? Really not a huge difference when opening up the valve on my 330i with production date 2020.01. When disabling the Active Sound you can barely hear the car from inside.

Does it stay permanently open with bimmerlink?

I don't think the 330e can have "pops and bangs" without being ECU tuned.

I have the Carly OBD2 adapter and app, and I don't hear much difference when I open the valve, at least inside the car. And it resets every time I remove the adapter. So I just don't bother to open it.

Hi

Know it’s an old thread but how did you manage to get that beta version. Have 2019 330e I wanna have that option on.
