F32 -> G20

Hey guys,

So now i am an owner of a F32 420i with custom exhaust and was thinking upgrading to a M340i.

I bought the F32 from the UK and imported it in Cyprus with plans of reselling it at the same price or bigger (since the cars have higher value here). My plan is to switch cars every 1-2 years and buy a new one with the same money. I was thinking to buy the new 4 series but im not a fan of the new grille. Also im a tech guy so i like these new tech features of the new 3 series.

1) How different is the ride feeling between f32 and g20 m340i?
2) Do you think it will be easy to sell an m340i?
3) Any known issues with these cars that i should be aware of?

The 320i looks very basic to me thats why im looking at the m340i

The new 4 series will have the same "new tech features" of the current M340 just fyi. A bit extra actually with the newer iDrive I believe.

Yes i agree but my car will lose more value until the 4 series gets released ( plus need to wait at least 6 months for the prices to drop)

Ah gotcha - so something like jump to the M340 for now and then the M440 @ LCI?

Idk where you live but in most of the world cars depreciate and a BMW takes the most hit in the first 1-2 years.

Cars have become too much like appliances so if you're looking to buy something that's going to hold value, you're prob best looking at another brand or at least an M vehicle. Just my 2 cents!

that would be ideal but in my country for some reason they prefer diesel cars

so the m440i would be very hard to resell..i think the m340i would be a touch easier since its a 4 door sedan and not a 2door coupe. Family mans would prefer it more.

But yes..switching brand may be a good idea..perhaps the new a5 from audi.. I will have an eye on uk auctions and see how the m340i goes for, if its around 25k gbp i will buy it i think.. and hopefully sell it after 1-2years

That's tough man. I owned an f30 and would not hesitate to jump into a G20 chassis in heart beat. Why? It's more refined, while at the same time sportier and hawks back to BMW ultimate driving machine routes.

I know in some countries since taxes are high making new cars very difficult to import or own thus keeping residual value pretty high. If you can swing it, the M340i is far better than the F32. It's sportier, way faster, and more refined at the same time.
