Battery Management Error

Every morning when I get in my car to go to work, “battery management” light ups in the cockpit view and on the idrive screen the following check control message shows up. See photo.

Does anyone know why this is happening? I have tried locking the car in my garage over night, leaving it unlocked in my garage over night, tried various settings, etc. Same error every morning.

I have a 2022 M340i. Just got it about a month ago.

I’m actually at the dealer right now. Will report back with their diagnosis.

They had it for 3 hours and said it will need to stay longer to pinpoint the issue as there is an intermittent draw while the vehicle is asleep. They need to keep it at the service center for a few days to further diagnose.

I haven’t heard of it on the G20 but a really common source of battery drain is the light inside the boot staying on permanently.

Remember…you heard it here first!

Good luck in getting it sorted.

I had to reschedule later this month so they could keep the car longer and have a loaner available.

Interesting though as the error hasn’t appeared for almost a week now. I opened the trunk yesterday and found that they took out the interior light and left the wire hanging. Lol. The never told me. So like Seaford mentioned above, it looks the draw has to do with the light or trunk mechanism?

I stopped by to let them know and they put the light back in but I guess the good news is the draw has been narrowed down. I’ll report back when they figure it out.

I had the same Error Message For the First time On my 20' X3 Last Week. Vehicle wouldn't start. 5 tow Trucks came and left b/c Nobody could figure out how to put the vehicle in Neutral smh +2 Days Later Dealer received the vehicle and said it was the Starter, And Replaced for free Under warranty And 'Alegedly' Gave me a free oil change for my pain and suffering.
Q With no Dipstick How can I verify the oil change?
