Is there a pattern to the M340i exhaust sounds?

I'm ten days in to my new m340i and I'm blown away!

One of my favorite parts of the experience are the pops, bangs and crackles that the exhaust makes. I can't for the life of me figure out if there's a specific pattern to the sounds the car makes. E.g. sometimes when downshifting the bangs are louder and more pronounced. Other times they are much quieter.

Has anyone figured this out?

You can code it with 5 different patterns
1. fart fart fart snort snort
2. fart snort fart snort fart
3. snort snort snort fart fart
4. snort fart snort snort fart
5. fart snort snort fart fart

There are ways to increase exhaust burbles with a tune. Stock it is not always consistent. But if you go full throttle and don't up shift you will get more pops and bangs when you come off the throttle.

I wish there was a way to get rid of the backfires and flatulence sounds, makes the car sound like it is in dire need of a proper tune and/or repairs. Granted I use to tune cars for a few years, so I am probably influenced from that.

The sounds will vary based on how you shift. I have found them programmed in a lot when just decelerating and downshifting around 2k to put you at 3k in the lower gear.

Pops & Crackles

I have to say I absolutely love the sound as well but it is very unpredictable for some of the sounds.

I like 2 sounds...downshifting from 3rd to 2nd as well as upshifting when hitting the gas hard from 2nd to 3rd or 1st to 2nd even.

I do plan on modifying my car although I don't want to mess anything up so I am waiting for the highest quality parts made for this specific BMW G20 model M340xi.

I expect a Tune would make the sounds much more pronounced.

Now I can only imagine exhaust upgrades and what that would sound like.

Can't wait for the aftermarket parts to come out
