Did a quick search on this, and could not find anything relevant.

Quick specs: 2020 M340i w/CarBahn Stage 1 tune, OEM MPE, 17k miles on vehicle, leased since Jan 2020. Remaining mods are all cosmetic.

After the car is warmed up (i.e., the "cold" message disappears on the temp gauge), I always switch from Comfort to Sport Plus. About 3 months ago (at around 16,500 miles), I noticed that within 5-20 minutes of driving, I would lose throttle response; peeking down on the dash, I'd see I was back in Comfort instead of Sport Plus At first, I chalked this up to operator error, just me being forgetful and not having engaged S+ mode. Then, it happened again. And again. It's definitely the car switching modes on me. I would say it happens about 20% of the time; occasional, but certainly noticeable since I drive 60 miles/day. I cannot find a pattern either. It'll happen at freeway speeds, idling at a light, taking a slow turn, etc. I remember my 2016 535i M Sport would not let me drive in Sport mode if the tire PSI were registering below acceptable levels, but here, all TPMS sensors appear to be working, tire pressure displayed (and manually checked) is acceptable, no CEL active, no warnings active, oil at acceptable levels. Some more data: I've had the car for 16 months now. The first 8 months, had no tune and also did not experience this problem. 5 months of tune, no issues. Last 3 months, issues. No idea if there is a relationship there, just wanted to offer the numbers.

Any ideas?

There is a thread about this in the general discussion area, but it may have to do with the recent OTA update. I have experience this myself and thought I was going nuts. Some have pointed to external temperature and/or tire pressure but my experience was on ~75 degree days where those two factors would not be an issue

Yes I've been getting this too.I might call and see if they can do a revert cause this is annoying since the update caused this.

Happens to me too. No tunes or mods. No OTA. updates at dealer. It's pretty random some days doesn't happen. No errors or warnings. I have been driving in sport plus basically since I have had the car. 2020 M340 Xdrive since August 2019. I will say exhaust has never changed with several updates. Still sounds great,pops and such. I will wait till next service and have the dealer take a look. This first time seeing anyone else with this issue

Good to know I'm not alone in this! Thankfully, it's not a critical issue...but I have to admit, it does catch me off guard if I'm trying to pass someone expecting the over-caffeinated Sport Plus throttle response and I instead get the geriatric we'll-get-there-when-we-get-there Comfort response =P

Oh another thing, I have android auto and use a Samsung phone. I drive randomly turns AA on. You? Anyone?

Samsung here too. Disabled AA recently, but when I was using it (for ~2 months), AA would always auto-connect by default. Seemed like an opt-out thing where I would have to exit the app on my phone for it to disconnect.

I don't mind auto connect. Just that the google map just pops up on it's own and the radio audio cuts out. Just have to hit the home button on the console and it back to normal. Annoying but not critical

Ah! Ok yes, similar thing here: radio would cut out and AA would auto-play the last app I had running (sometimes media player, sometimes Waze, etc).
