Yup same here my MK7 gti was made in Mexico and it had tons of rattles and other bullshit. Hoping the G20 doesn't suffer this issue.

Every BMW I’ve owned starting from an e21 316 has been built in Germany except for one of my E36s. That was my worst BMW quality wise. Lack of euro delivery is also the reason I’ve not yet owned an X series. Nothing against Mexico but I prefer my German cars to be assembled in Germany and the whole euro delivery experience is always a highlight.

If you were in the trade, you'd know it's "keys" not "kilos".

On the other hand the German E90 that I did euro delivery on in 2007 had tons of issues. I think it's just a lottery. The Mexican G20s will be fine. |

You'll have to order M340i for ED . Those will be made in Munich plant across the street from Welt.

Not to change the subject but has ANYONE seen any of the 6 series GT on the road?? I am in the Bay Area and have yet to see a single 6 series GT on the road. I've seen some exotic Aston Martins already and of course all the rest of the MB/BMW/Audi models all around. The 6 series GT I have yet to encounter even a single one. I don't believe I've seen one at the Mountain View of Stevens creek dealerships either....

Coke drinks made in Mexico sure tastes a lot better than the states =)
I'm sure the standard is set high, I don't foresee any fitment issues from that plant

The CLS? Stupid amount of rattles on the inside. Might just depend on the cars & suspension rather than the plants. |

I'm not at all concerned about mexican assembly quality. I work in tech, and so does my father who is in the hardware assembly industry. He works at a company that opened a mexican plant to supplement a los angeles based site (I worked there a few summers as a high schooler and in college.... and it was mostly mexican american as it was), and Tennessee based plant.
the Tennessee plant easily had the worst defect rate and cost the most. For the mexican plant the job was "a very good job" and well people put a lot of effort into doing it correctly, it was a job you wanted to keep not just "some crappy manufacturing job" like the Tennessee plant. THe LA plant I personally worked at for 2 summers and mexican work ethic is beyond anything I'd expect from your typical american. That BMW will no doubt be assembled well |

Do you have any source for that? Because although that makes sense (M340i and M cars from Germany, base 330i's from Mexico), I emailed BMW corporate on this very topic, and they told me that plans for G20 European Delivery were not public/finalized yet.
