Coding boot lid close?

I'm not sure if I have the power tailgate, but the trunk does open with the trunk button from the driver's side and it does open when I wave my foot under the trunk from outside the car. Is it possible to code for the trunk to close from the driver's side or from the key fob, and is it possible via bimmercode?

If you have a powered boot lid, there will be a button on the inside liner to close the lid (like in most SUVs). If you don’t have the button, you don’t have power tailgate.
It *might* be possible to code the trunk lid to close ONLY if you have a powered tailgate.

I've got the powered tailgate and it opens and closes from both the key fob and inside the car from factory. If you don't have the powered tailgate option it will kick open but not close as there's no motor installed. Hope that makes sense.

Usually if you have the button on the driver's side you will have a powered tailgate. If you pull this switch, with the boot (trunk) open, and hold it it should close it. Also there will be a switch on the inside of the trunk to also close it.

I went thru bimmercode looking for the option to code close trunk lid with remote or with the cabin button. I didn't found anything that would allow me to code to close feature. I also looked into retrofitting the power open and close feature on mine. Not worth it for almost $2K for just the genuine BMW parts. I did find this on alibaba.

If you have power lid, you can use BimmerCode to code the functions you want. [IMG][/IMG]

My F48 X1 had these listed to code the power tailgate. I actually miss this feature on my G20.

Thank you all. I have confirmed that while I do have the button on the driver's side door (that lifts up and pushes down) it only opens, as it is not motorized.
