Hopefully not. I asked one of the women at the BMW Booth during the show and they said they were not sure. She said they could have them coming out of Germany and Africa. When buying a new car always open and close all doors numerous times to see how they close

Dingolfing plant - 21 defects per 100 cars Rosslyn plant - 15 defects per 100 cars I understand that having a German assembled car is nice and I was kinda disappointed that mine wasn't but after thinking about it more I don't really understand why it's a big deal when the quality is better. American made cars are another story. My parent's X3 that was assembled in Spartanburg had numerous issues relating to assembly and quality control.

I can't believe they're finally bringing those stupid, fake exhaust tips to the 3-series... Are you kidding me!??!?!?
Anyone else also bothered by the cheap looking plastic behind the upper, angled part of the kidney grilles? Why even have the grill angle like that if you have to have the unsightly plastic supporting it behind?

Trying to go mass-market while leaving their decades-old faithful market behind them. Trying to go Audi/Lexus way of things, YUCK! Looks like BMW owners are going to get their bad reputation back because of all the nitwits this will bring to the brand.
At the end of this day while this is sad to see, it doesn't really bother me because there are still dozens and dozens of older BMWs that I have yet to own. That should keep me busy for a while. The people buying the new junk can go their own way, I don't mind.

For an event? I believe there are still FAA restrictions when driving a car on a private air strip.

at this point its more of a private road than an actual airstrip as it hasnt actually been used for airplanes in a couple decades. doesnt have any of the lighting or other safety measures required to meet modern requirements for airstrips. dude that bought the house repaved it and connected it to his garage so he can RIP his drag cars down it and get right back to working on em.

Lucky for you/us the same people bought the "new junk" in previous years as well, so there are also used ones available. Last edited by KTN; 12-06-2018 at 03:45 PM.. |

Can anyone decipher this sentence? I think he's saying that we should thank people who bought older cars when they were new?

I think it's definitely not a fake exhaust, and if we're talking exhaust tips, how can it be fake if there's a real exhaust "behind" it, with exhaust gas actually coming out through the tips? But anyway... you can still not like it. Oh, I'll decipher: what you're writing off as junk now - without having ever driven it and quite possibly without having seen it in person - has a good chance to years later be among the "good old BMWs" that you praise. I'm sure some of the older models you now put on a pedestal were considered "junk" by some when they were released as a new model, just as the G20 is by you. So if somebody didn't buy that "new junk" back then, you wouldn't be able to try it out as a used car now. |

I was at the auto show last week. I found the exterior hideous but my biggest complaint were the seats. The driver’s seat felt like a cheap piece of leather was stretched over a metal bar. That and the price are deal breakers. I miss my 2009 e92 with GIAC tune and M-Sport package

And while it may drive nice and be fast, I guarantee you I will have the same sentiment about this car in regards to it's shortcomings in 10, 20 years and so on. My issues are with the serious design flaws and the intrusion of electronic assistance in the driving of the vehicle. It will not age well, and it will not be an enthusiast vehicle. It doesn't align with any of the formulas BMW has used in the past to make a good car. This car is designed and made for $329/month leases. Nothing else.

I just leased an F30 that I quite like, but I think the hate for the G20 is weird. Granted I'm a new BMW driver. Apart from the grille, I think it looks fine, and I'm sure will look better with a blacked out grille and the eventual LCI. I'd rather get one of these when my lease is up then a Merc or Audi, but that's just me. I have the luxury of waiting to see how it turns out.

You keep bashing on the G20 like your life depended on it while the model's not even out yet. And this is not about opinion either, or at least not a very informed one at that. I don't see people going around writing this will be the best driving 3 series ever either, because we simply don't know yet. And those who do, have to wait till 12th Dec to tell us. I just don't really get why some people feel the need to sight-unseen devote multiple posts to telling the world how much the G20 sucks in their "opinion", is all. But if you see into the future, props to you. And don't take this "personally", I mean you might be right, I'm not saying you aren't or your opinion might not be justified going down the road. Just strange reading things stated as facts, as if someone has lived years with the G20, yet it's not even out yet. Last edited by KTN; 12-08-2018 at 04:41 AM.. |

Many complainers will end up driving a G20. Just as they bought E90 examples and then the F30. BTW, I don't understand it either, and I've been around BMW since the 1970's. It's a new model, it will be different, that's the idea! |
