Yeah, I don't know.

I had my E90 for 11 years and never drove more than 300 miles on any day.

Agree my 335d didn't get that kind of range and it was getting like 40mpg. My e40 is getting me 350+ depending on conditions that's pretty liveable I drive the same routes so now that I know the less busy EA stations with the more reliable signet chargers I just make sure I hit them on my trip. Into the unknown or a long trip with the family I usually take the x5

Well I definitely drove more than 300 miles in a day, but I stopped to eat, refuel, and go to the bathroom, the same as I have done in the i4.

I never.drove that far in my E90.

My X5 on the other hand is what we use for road trips.

Before the X5 we had a minivan or Pacifica.

It's just the sedan never saw road trips.

I was concerned originally about range coming from a Tesla Y LR to a BMX i4 eDrive 40. I was willing to give up some range due to the many issues with the "Y", mainly "Ghost Braking". I took delivery of the i4 and about 2 weeks later I drove the i4 from my home in La Quinta, CA to San Diego, CA. I charged the i4 to 100% before leaving, drove the round trip 242 miles with out stopping to charge and still had 121 miles of range when I pulled into my garage. I never could have done this with the "Y"!!! It wasn't a fluke as I frequently drive r/t to Marina del Rey, CA (south of LA) similar distance to the SD trip with similar results...
Absolutely, love the Bimmer and no issues. OBTW, real leather and other amenities that Tesla doesn't!
Full loaded, 19" area wheels and the only option I didn't want is heads display.
Temperature varied between 95-112 degrees on the SD trip.

Wow that is 363 miles of range! The terrain should be relative flat, and temp is a bit high, may be it can push another 20 miles @80F.

That is great to hear your experience! I’m on the fence about trading in my Y for an i4. Would love to hear more. I’ve never thank goodness had any phantom braking issues and swear by the Superchargers so EA messiness sounds so annoying. Here’s the rest of my punch list I’m trying to reconcile… would love to come back to BMW if I can convince myself!

What I would miss going from Y LR Boost to i4 e40

No key fob / walk away, remote app controls
Great Sound system (maybe h/k is close?)
DAPP / autopilot (use AP on hey all the time for long trips or bumper/bumper. can’t seem to find a new one with DAPP)
interior space esp trunk and headroom in rear seats
Supercharging
Lower Interest rate
Dog mode (maybe preconditioning is equivalent?)
Routine Software enhancements
Acceleration (0-100km 5.7). (Tesla no boost 5.1)

thx.
