It's in the manual go to my garage on the BMW website then download your digital manual it's in the assisted drive section

So usually in traffic I just do the regular assisted driving and today I saw thing that said assist and hit mode then I got it. So just keep driving in drivers assistance and you'll see it eventually

If you go into driving setting on Idrive can you tell me what options you see in the driver assistance settings. A picture would be even better.

Sucks man! My dealer also refused to update my software and they cannot find anything wrong with the car. We paid for a feature of a car and now it’s not working I think it needs to be escalated to BMW Corporate. Either we got a lemon or something need to be fixed.

To be fair, the only real difference between assist and normal is hands free under 40 mph. NGL I typically have y hand on it anyways lol

Sure today I was testing it but overall I like tp ensure I can quickly take over so I'm usually touching it on non straights or when I feel like computer may get something wrong. Merges line breaks etc

It’s true, this feature only gives us hands free below 40 mph in traffic but if this isn’t working for some I wonder what’s wrong, just a software or hardware?

They have to get a permission from BMW Corporate. If they don’t see anything wrong in diagnosis they won’t update. I think BMW is afraid it might mess up something else. That’s why some car comes with lower software version. fucked up though nonetheless.

That's seriously a dumb ass mentality. Shit in Tesla all people want. They eagerly update their software.

I say this as someone who never owned a Tesla but I think they were cool until the i4 m50 came out.

The dealer can be tricky but this is a bit of a weird issue that isn't as well known and it's pretty easy for them to just say "it's working fine you just aren't meeting all the conditions" that's why the picture is helpful. But also for my sanity...

Added software version update 07/2022.40

Almost positive I didn't buy the car with this version a few weeks ago. Maybe that's why yesterday was the first day it worked for me ::

But the option for assisted driving plus was there when I bought the car/took it home to play with it

Mine is a little newer 7/22.35 but no dice with ADP. So someone at ****** has 7/22.40 and ADP is working but he doesn’t have that toggle button either. BMW is messing up these things for sure. Makes you wonder what the hell else might be broken.

Car is at the dealer now, they updated idrive to latest software (45) and it didn't make a difference. The foreman said they have a bulletin out for this issue with the backend sync etc. All the modules need to be updated and the CIC (or whatever it is called now) and the 5AU need to be reflashed and told they were "replaced" for some reason if you just reflash it without re-configuring it completely the problem will persist. Will let you all know what the result is when I pick it up later today.... but hopefully that will save others some time at the dealer when they try to tell you that you just aren't meeting the correct requirements for it to turn on, also show them the screen shot that flames of gold posted where there is an option for "assisted driving plus"
