G80 M3 LCI?
I am waiting for an allocation for a 2025 g80 LCI, and am aware that production will begin in July, so it will probably be around Nov-Dec latest to reach where I am (south korea)
There just doesnt seem to be nearly as much info on the g80 as there is on the m4. Perhaps because its production is slated for later in the year? I personally love the new DRLs and laser tail lights, but I came across an article that suggested that the sedan and touring could not receive this update: https://www.bmwblog.com/2024/02/06/2...xdrive-523-hp/ This would be a huge bummer. None of the spy shots of the m3 LCI camo the rear, whereas all of the spyshots for ghe m4 seem to camo the rear as well. What do you guys think? The +20 hp power bump, updated DRLs and laser tail lights should naturaly also transfer over to the m3...right? Thanks. |

The M3 CS did not have special taillights, and the M4 ones won't fit. So there are no laser taillights available to put in the M3. Ergo it doesn't get them. |

Because the shape is different and they don’t exist for the sedan. Simple as that really. They were originally introduced on the CSL for the M4 chassis… the CS didn’t see anything. People liked them, so there was a revision to the design for probably both brightness and manufacturing costs (to make them cheaper to produce) and they just pushed them out. There’s no immediate driving force to make ones for the M3… at least as far as BMW is concerned.

No, the spy shots of the LCI G80 are everywhere and BMW didn't bother covering up the taillights with camo. They will be the same unless they really surprise everyone at launch (very doubtful).

G20 LCI didn't get any taillight changes, G80/G81 won't either.

They may choose to tint the tail lights darker. I noticed that LCI X7 and X5s tail lights look a shade or two darker next to my car. Seems to be the direction BMW is going in right now.
I don't think there is any evidence of anything at this point other than: The tail light shape will not change.

I personally think the new laserlights would not look good on the M3, it just doesnt flow like it does on the M4.

Just look at the BayOptiks version of "laser tail lights". They use the style of the G82 lights but made for the G80. They look terrible in my opinion.

BMW did the same on the F8x CS. The M3 never got the tail light upgrade, only the M4.
So I think realistically you're looking at +20 hp on the M3Cx, head lights and probably the flat bottom steering wheel with alcantara option. |

Yes, you are probably right, though they may be using the old tail lights during testing.
There were many photos of the M4 CSL in camo (with the ducktail trunk lid) but with the standard M4 tails.

Yeah problem is some of the very recent spy shots still have these tail lights. Would be lame for a car to have a 8 year life span and change absolutely nothing with the rear end but that's the way it's looking.

The fact that you can still get the original G82 tail lights on the LCI 4-series leads me to believe that it is more likely that there will be no change.

Has anyone heard from their dealers on the G80 M3 LCI allocations?
I had my name down for one, I'm hearing today from my dealer that they will not get any LCI M3s this year because of the redesign (not sure if that means deliveries for '25 models will drag to next year or what, need to catch up with the sales team).
