Hi.

I’ve read a lot of threads on here and around the web, regarding the G20 330e having either the b48b20a or b48b20b engine, but it still seems difficult to know in advance, what engine a particular car would have…
I am currently looking for a used 330e Touring in Germany, preferably without x-drive, but does anyone know if it’s even possible for the touring to have the 20b engine? Did any model year ever come with that engine, or was it strictly the saloon version?

I remember some VIN decoders did show the engine code too, but I don't which ones can still do so.

That is true, but do you know if any of the Touring cars ever came with the b-engine, or if it was strictly for the saloon version?
I’ve seen some people on here post that they have the b-version, but my general impression is that it’s mostly people with the saloon version…

So far I've gotten a reply back from four or five dealers, and all cars have the b20A engine... Maybe the B-engine never made it into the Touring version.

I'm also looking for a G21 with B engine but no luck so far. Did you ever find one or definitive answer they were never made?
