In cars I've had in the past, I've always been able to open the shade of the sunroof halfway if I wanted too and then open the sunroof halfway. But on the 330i, it seems like all you can do is open the shade all the way, regardless of whether or not you want the sunroof open only half way.

Am I missing something? Is there no way to open both only half way?

You can only choose the exact position of the sunshade with the roof closed or tilted. If it's slid right back then the shade is right back too. When you tilt the roof the shade opens about a quarter of the way, but you can toggle it to precisely where you want with the switch.
