Can a 330i with the electronic LSD be drifted?
I tried several times to car losing grip (sport mode + dsc off)
but no matter how i flick the car, it simply too grippy in normal circumstances, this must be good thing, but for drifting it isn't ELSD with 258HP engine don't fit for drifting? (i doubt it) if it can possible, any advice please good sir! |

sedan clan/ I've seen it too, cool video!
i admit my lack of driving skill lol but he got optional LSD. i'm curious about ELSD's ability to drift how much difference between Mechanical LSD and ELSD for drifting? Last edited by bumblebeemer; 09-28-2019 at 11:05 AM.. |

Probably not much difference in terms of the ability to break traction and drift.

I'm sure it's possible but you might just need more speed. Have you experimented by attempting donuts?
Also, you're confusing people by calling it an "ELSD". The optional mechanical LSD is electronically actuated so some people could call it eLSD. The more accurate term for what you have would be ADB which is the automatic differential brake. |

ELSD works like this, when it sense wheel slip it applies brake on that wheel forcing other wheel to spin I had this on my E91 it’s good for a straight line, but on corners it’s shaking impossible to drift |

I've got it on my m340i and id guess on the 330i that it's the same. on the m340i with the diffential and the pilot 4s it's not quite as easy to break traction as it was on my old f30 with worn tires so maybe you just need older tires too |

eLSD will avoid powersliding by braking the slipping wheel, LSD will go into lock to provide power to both rear tires. The latter is needed when you want control on your slip. Consequently provoking a power slide with the technique of "over power" in low gears with eLSD is (almost) impossible.
Almost every car can drift, you just need to build sufficient speed in the corner before apex to bring the tire to the limit of it's grip potential. With RWD you "over power" with extra throttle, bringing the tire over it's limit since the grip required for lateral propulsion is no longer available. With FWD you brake to lower the weight on the rear axle and this also brings the tire over it's limit (grip = weight x adhesion). |
