Ok guys so we can finally put this to rest. I changed the Master Cylinder and Booster to the ones listed on realoem for M Sport/M Performance Tandem and I am pleased to inform you that the issue has been resolved.
I have attached some pictures below to show the difference between the master cylinder that comes with the G20 models that have the tiny grey brakes compared to the M Sport/M Performance Cylinder. With regard to the booster the one in my car and the one listed for M Sport/M Performance looked identical when we put them side by side so not sure if just changing just the master would have made a difference but wasn't willing to take the chance. So after nearly a month of not driving my car because the pedal was going to the floor and nearly no brake fluid pressure going to the rear it feels great and stops well now. Still have to bed in pads also. So guys anyone whose G20 come with the SMALL GREY BRAKES you definitely need to buy the kit that comes with the booster or buy the M Sport/M performance master/booster. I can also guarantee you coding has nothing to do with it as I went the entire coding ordeal previously. It would never work and feel how it is supposed to without the correct parts. Sorry if the images are too big or not rotated but you can see the differences. |

Wow, those two parts are $500 each... that's in addition to the $2400 or so for brake components?

I'm looking at that sight right now... When I run the master cylinder part # it shows it with a US-spec B46D 330ix. But when I run the brake booster part # it only comes up under Euro B48D 330ix. I think my brake booster is 34336889801 (not the suggested 34336889796). Is there an easy way to visually examine the master cylinder and brake booster to double check? I could only imagine shelling out the cash for the M-Performance setup and then telling the chief financial officer that I need another grand for the non-sexy master cylinder and booster. LOL Thanks for your help/input. |

FYI, when I search for the Booster part# for the 330iX (US and EUR), I only find part# 34336889801. 34336889796 does not reference the 330iX. Larry

So you think that Brake Booster 34336889801 is sufficient for the M-Power brake upgrade for a 330ix?
Is the M-Performance 34112458884 setup with brake booster for non-US spec cars that are 320i and lower? Sorry about all the questions. |

I rely on ETK (RealOEM) to determine which MP Brake kit is required. A quick search suggests EUR 320iX and lower without M-Sport/ Recuperation system requires 34112458884 MP Brake kit - https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...iX/ECE/03_5026 Larry

The difference between 34112458884 and 34112450161 is that the former has two additional items highlighted in the screen grab below. One is the brake booster and the other is a set of instructions (not the master cylinder!).
This suggests that replacing the master cylinder is not necessary which just confuses the whole matter even more because we already know cars spec'ed with M sports brakes from the factory come with a different master cylinder part number; and A172 also showed pics of them clearly being different. Making matters worse, if you google 34112458884 you will realise that (1) none of the vendors specifically list the brake booster as being included, and (2) prices are basically the same as 34112450161. Does anyone have the part number for a kit that includes both the brake booster and master cylinder? |

34336892203 in Bimmercat says Powerbrake so people just assume it's the brake booster alone when it is actually the complete master/booster/reservoir complete assembly. Makes sense because there is no part number that you can buy individually ending in 2203.
I checked several vendors previously using that part# and they had no clue what it was either or said it doesn't exist. I have attached actual pictures of what come in the 34112458884 kit which clearly shows the entire booster/master/reservoir assembly that comes in the box. This is where all the confusion is coming from where people are assuming it's booster alone need to change etc. This whole thing was pretty simple tbh. I just looked up the M Performance/M Sport master and booster on realoem, bought it and installed it. My long brake travel and mushiness/skipping feel on the pedal were fixed intstantly. This is only needed for cars that are listed on realoem as S2NHA/S3M2A = No I am also pleased to announce after a week of driving all my brake issues are 100% fixed and my M Performance brakes and pedal feel aggressive and great, no complaints! So guys even if you buy the wrong kit for your car all you need is the M Sport/M Perf master and booster and all will be well. Thanks again guys. |

A quick search on realoem shows you already have the master cylinder ending in 2205 which is the same for MSport/M Perf. Don't think you need to change your booster as Larry said, the US spec only has one booster. |

Good to hear its fixed ☺️ about time i make a trip to change mine as well!
To rest of the folks, mine is RHD but as long as you are a 320 or 318 and did not spec a msport brake from the factory, you have a different booster. 330 does not have this issue, it comes with the right booster, msport brakes or not. Also, an msport spec does not give u the stronger booster by default, because the brakes are optional. i have a msport but my dealer didnt opt for the brakes 🤣 hope this clarifies. drive safe folks Quote:
