2024 440i coupe tire question

My 2024 440i coupe came with 225/40/19 tires on 19X8 rims. I would like to go to 235 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s non-run flat and was wondering if they would fit without problem. Also, how important is it that they are star BMW rated? Can I also go 255/35/19 in the rear?

When choosing the same tire model front/back or if not xDrive, the star markings don't mean much. I have staggered on my xDrive and will choose star marked from BMW list of tire models when time comes to replace. Others will tell you it doesn't matter as long as the total wheel size (rolling circumference) is within x%. The problem with that is that the rolling circumference can deviate from mathematical calculation from the size designation. (I got information from Michelin about 2 star marked models of the same size and they still differed more than 1 %.) You should also get matching wheels (wider rim) to match wider tires.
