Sunroof squeak

Hi
A question for anyone who's had their sunroof squeak "fixed" by the dealer.
Did they replace anything or just lubricate?
Did the sound go away?
Did it stay away?

Mine was lubricated at the last service but still noisy, possibly even more than before (maybe because it's winter and the rubber is cold and stiff).

Thanks

Do you know where the squeak comes from?

I remember when I first bough the Gummipfleger I cleaned the part of the roof (the metal bit) where the metal meets the rubber of the glass.

It started to squeak immediately. Very loud and constant. Alarmingly so.

The solution was to put some gummi on the metal part so its not so 'squeaky clean'. I have not heard a thing since.

Hi
I'm not entirely sure where it's coming from. I'll have to take someone with who can pay some attention to it while I find rough bits of road.

mine was squeaking away for awhile, wouldn't go away no matter what I did. Took it to the dealer, they fixed it good. I think they took the glass off and reseated it or something...

A few years ago, I had a problem with the fitting of the windows in my M3 convertible. They squeaked when the roof was up and the windows were up (caused by the thickness of the window tint film and the fine tolerances of the fitment of the roof).
I bought some silicone gel from BMW (bloody expensive!) and put it on the top of the windows where they fitted into the soft top recesses. It cured the problem instantly and the squeaky issue never reoccurred, even after years of use.

I haven’t noticed any issues with the sunroof squeaking on the current car. But I’m prepared………..

I bet that happened with mine, but they just told me they've done something about it so I shut up.
