BMW HK upgrade
Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum so please excuse my Noob like comments and questions.
I have a G20 330i with HK sound system, pro NAV etc and am not happy with the sound system. The system feels like it’s under powered compared to my F30 H/K setup. The woofers have lesser “thump” and over all impact, and the the mids + highs feel weaker. There’s a vibration sound from the center dash but I believe that’s a quick fix. Has anyone with this setup, upgraded their sound system? Its so complicated and the local sound shops claim they can do it but have never tried it before and all look a bit lost once they have a look at the “amplifiers” in the trunk. Ideally I’d like to look at 3 scenarios : 1 - running an AMP with DSP and powering all speakers 2 - running an AMP to power just the under seat woofers and an external subwoofer 3 - just adding an amp (Mono Block) and subwoofer. Here’s a few pics of what’s packing in the trunk. |

I 100% agree with this. My F30 with HK hit harder and deeper than my new G20.

You can consider to use MATCH UP 10SDP with MATCH PP-BMW 1.9RAM-HK

I made contact with an audio shop who managed to upgrade the speakers only which did improve the clarity an vocals slightly but the bass upgrade wasn't much of an improvement.
In essence Blam bmw retro fit speakers were used on the factory amplifier/booster system. It's an option I guess, but I'm still in search of a decent upgrade system. So far the Helix V12 has been trialled tested and passed, although was a costly affair. |

BMW HIFI 676 System
The above system is the main system used in U.S. 3 series vehicles unless someone upgrades to the HK system. It has 10 speakers and a 205 watt amplifier in the trunk. Trying to find out who makes it for BMW. Thanks.

Not quite sure. There are many upgrades available for the 10 speaker sound system which works out more cost effective. The Match 7 by Audiotec Fisher is a decent upgrade with amplifier and DSP which makes even the factory speakers sound much better. Plug n play stuff. With speakers there's many different options available.
I recently also came across an upgrade kit for BMW front stage only by a company called Gladen. It comprises of a dsp amp, front mid range, tweeters and under seat woofers. I regret taking a car with the HK sound system. My car is considered as the "launch edition" which has so many limitations and obstacles with its sound system. Oh and it doesn't sound very good either. |

BavSound?
I ordered HK on my M340i xDrive to be delivered this month. Sad to see the various negative reviews, but glad to know the truth.
Has anyone looked at BavSound? |
