8 in. It came with the square 225 set of runflats. Like Barry said...it does rub in reverse on full lock...only with the spacers (13mm). Nothing crazy so I'm gonna keep em on.

Been exploring the 245 fitment as well. It clears - 245/40 on 19 inch rim - with 0.25 inches (a small finger width) of gap to suspension strut.

Super close, but as enginedriver above said, no rubbing.

It's 0.6-0.7 inches taller than OEM size but clears. Comes down to personal choice if it works for you or you want to consider a size down.

Cheers,

M

Hi Guys,
I am getting a used 2020 M340 X in a couple of weeks. It has a square set of 18" 790M wheels with all seasons with 225 Turanzas all around.
I know those tires won't look good, too skinny for the car.
I am trying to avoid buying a new set of wheels right away.

I am wondering your thoughts if I put 12/15mm spacer front/back.

Or do you know if I am to change tires and go for a 245 tire on the 7.5 790 wheel? Thanks

2x VMR Wheels V802 19x8.5 ET35 5x112 66.6 $365 (12mm spacer + extended lugs advised)
2x VMR Wheels V802 19x9.5 ET35 5x112 66.6 $365

My current setup is:
35 offset will be good for both front and rear? How would this look?

Can I get rims swapped out on a Lease for my 21 M340?
Wondering if the dealership will allow me to swap rims for $$. I got the car with the "cartwheel" rims and they hide the blue M Calipers. Anyone have estimated costs?

Curious what you ended up doing with your wheels. I have a set of 790M rims staggered (7.5Jx18 and 8.5Jx18) that I'd like to square for winter tires.

Wouldn't a 245/35/19 be better than 245/40/19 for the front?

There's a smaller % difference in diameter size vs stock.

Also wouldn't the slightly shorter sidewall of the 35 be better to reduce sidewall flex compared to the 40?

Mine also came with the 225/40/19 square setup (19x8 wheels). Those run flats are terrible, so I'm going for new tires soon. From what I see 235/40/19 should fit fine but I just want to confirm because all the tire sites (Discount Tires, etc.) flash warnings that 235s won't fit my model (M340i xDrive). Are those just default warnings because it's not the OEM size?

I run 245/40-19 on my 19x8.5 et30 Track/Winter wheels and just bought some 255/40-19 tires for next season.

I think 265/35-19 square could be possible with the right offset + additional camber. Apex are doing all the test fitting and stuff right now so we should have an answer soon.

Edited my post, but mine are the 19x8 wheels all around. 8.5 would give some more options for sure, but not sure how wide I can comfortably go with 19x8.

I belive with 235/40/19 - 265/35/19 the car will look bastardly insanely beautiful.
Did you ever try 235/40/19 x 265/35/19? If so, how did it work out? Any rubbing? Any major changes in steering?

If you can, maybe a pic or two?

My car came with the staggered MPS4s. 8 x 8.5 19" non run flats too. Wondering if i can go 245/40/19 x 265/35/19 or just settle for the 235/40/19 in the front like you did.

Man, kinda disappointed after looking at all of this haha. I was really hoping to fit 255's all the way around, whether on 18 or 19 inch wheels.

Missed that part of that one, it'd be nice if it works. Wonder how the 265's will look squeezing them on an 8.5" too.

I don't think 265 on 8.5 is a good idea. 265 on 9 is already a stretch. 9.5 would be ideal.

I come here with the sauceeee. 330I, but the wheelwell should be the same as a M340i

Took a few wheel spec here as reference and took a gamble on these FlowOne wheels on sale on TireRack, I think it turned out pretty good.

Tires are some clerance 265/35-18 RE71R TireRack found in storage. Wheels and tire are both square setup.
Car has since been dropped on Dinan Springs, no rubs or issues so far.

Wheels are 18x9 +35
The front ended up needed a 5MM spacer cause it wouldn't clear the strut.

So I took my 2021 M340iX to the track with square 225 PS4S tires and took it to my limit.

I also met a BMW engineer at the track who confirmed my suspicion that staggered is generally worse than square from a performance perspective and is "only for looks," but that's not the point.

What I can confirm is that square 225s, while fine for spirited road driving, do not cut it on the track. They seriously held me back. I would get about four laps in per session before the car started stepping out of line and kind of dancing around, and this at speeds below 100mph on sweeping cambered turns.

The car itself is brilliant though. Held in with the
novice group nicely until the tires got squishy. With a some strut braces and proper tires I could absolutely see hanging with the intermediate sessions.
