I just can't get over the "GT" rear end vibe from this car.

I went with Brooklyn grey, but I am starting to realize it looks much meaner in all black.

The G20 3-series is way better looking at a better price.
Looks more like a GT than a GC

So am back in an M340i sedan after the M440i GC and yes there is a bit of a difference, the sedan does feel a little less "sporty" or "edgy" and there are no pops and bangs from the exhaust even in Sport+ mode. The GC has the crackling exhaust notes.

Is why I ordered black after months of hesitation

Early 2021 car. I just took it out again, there are very minute pops when driving quite "joyfully", but the 4GC really crackles a lot even with just letting off the throttle after a hard stab. Maybe it's a production year issue on my M340i sedan.

Ah no I think it's just a difference between MY20 and MY21 - 21 is very toned down compared to 20 unfortunately. Mine's a Sep 2019 build so definitely burbles on downshifts in Sport+.

I've sat in the new G26, didn't like it. I used to own an F36 too, and I feel the F36 was a far sexier car. I ended up going with G20, MSport even though the G26 I was looking at was the same price as my G20. To me, the G20 is a far superior looking BMW than the G26. I needed a more comfortable back seat and the G20 wins against the G26 in that regard due to that fact that I have family that sits in the back seat often. Also, I'm still not a fan of the kidneys on the G26, but I like them on the M3/M4. Also, the F36 I used to own handled worse than the 3 series, there was definitely chassis flex on that vehicle, but I think they probably improved that on the G26. The G26 looks more tall than it is wide, where as the F36 looks more wide than tall, the F36 just looks better.

I love my G20 though, although the car I bought wasn't specced with heated front seats, even if it's not really needed where I live in Florida, but even my Volkswagen came with heated seats standard. I'm super annoyed with BMW by this, but other than that the G20 is fantastic. Just wish I had heated front seats.

The blandness of the G20 is exactly why I switched to the G26. But it’s still an awesome car you’ll absolutely enjoy. Just too basic from the side and rear in my opinion.

IMO the G20's best selling point is how understated it is, even in M340i configuration. However, I do agree that I will probably be getting a more "stylish" car with my next purchase.

I maybe in the minority here but I happened across this review last night of a base 430i GC and was struck at how classy and subdued everything looked with the chrome accents/green paint and relaxed styling w/ the the 18" wheels.

I somewhat think the M-sport GC's rear end is a bit overwrought.

I agree that the rear end of the M Sport is a bit overwrought. They didn't have to extend the black diffuser plastic above the bumper line at the corners. It creates a look that mimics SUV fake ruggedness. The non-M Sport rear end looks cleaner and I'd dare say more attractive.
On the front end though, chrome/aluminum around the grill is still a little hard to swallow (on some body colors) even though I like this grill on the 4GC. It appears you have to step up to the M440 to get Shadowline colors, which unfortunately gives you the not so clean rear end.
