Apple CarKey retrofit to 2020?

This is a dumb question, but has anyone looked into the feasibility of retrofitting the Apple CarKey compatible hardware (?) and coding to get it working in an early build?

I decided to keep my car now that the lease is done and I'm going to start making it my own...

Are you talking about the Digital Key or CarPlay because you mention both features.

They didn't have the keycard in early builds of the 2020 models? Mine was a 2020 and had the keycard (not sure if it was an early build though).

The digital key can´t be retrofitted because you would need to convince BMW to add the feature to your car in their Connected Drive backend.
The hardware in your car is only one part of the retrofit.
Even if you would be able to get every antenna in your car, BMW would never add the digital key to your car.
Someone tried to sniff what traffic is send between BMW and your phone while creating the digital key.
The key is created on your local phone but with some kind of allow message from BMW.
The user that sniffed the traffic said it could be possible to fake this allow message so your MyBMW app would create the key because it things it´s allowed to do so.

In short, there´s no official or easy way to retrofit this.

I'm not talking about the BMW DigitalKey, but Apple CarKey (use phone as key).

Looks like it's tied to the ConnectedDrive service, which is odd, but so be it.

BMW Digital Key = Key in iPhone Wallet

Until 07/2020 the digital key only was the keycard and after that it was extended to the iPhones Wallet.
Then in the end of 2021 until early 2022 some cars had 32Z als removal of digital key.

I retrofitted the 360 camera on my car. As expected, there was no option to purchase the drive recorder from the BMW store. I couldn't use remote 3D from the app either.

After a warranty visit to the dealership, the above functions appeared for my car. Just a thought, maybe the car needs to connect to the BMW network via the dealership for the options to appear.

How did you do the retrofit? Did your order the parts yourself or from a seller?

Hey, i can't DM you as I am new member. But I'd like to add 360 cameras to my G20 (2019), which only have PDC, do you think it's possible aswell, would you please share your intel? It's quite shame that BMW doesn't include cameras not even rear one as basic thing.
