**** Official EPL 2016-2017 Season Thread ****

Can't believe a new season is upon us, but the EPL season officially starts this weekend with a tasty matchup between Arsenal and Liverpool. Again, Wenger signs one new player in the transfer window and he has no healthy starting defenders. His 4th place trophy is in jeopardy! Especially, with all the huge signings from the Manchester teams. Will be great to see Pep and Mourinho going at it again. As a Chelsea fan, I'm happy with Conte so far, but they still have a ways to go. How will LC fare? Will they finish top 4? How will they do in Europe? Should be a real exciting season!

If they don't finish in the top 4, I don't know how they would give him a contract extension. But, then again, it is Arsenal.

Well, that wasn't a good start for the champions. Against Hull City no less which has been picked for the bottom. Great to see Arsenal lit up for 4 goals. I don't understand why Wenger didn't play Ozil and Giroud? How can they not be fit when they just played a tournament? Also, it ended a few weeks ago. We still didn't learn a lot about Man U except Ibra can still score in any league. I still think Mata is on the market and maybe that's why Mou started him.

GO CHELSEA!!!

You guys watch the Manchester derby? It was a great game. Pep beat Mou again. I don't think he set up his starting XI very well and they were punished in the first half. Still think Man U, City, and Chelsea have defensive holes. It's going to be a great season.

Chelsea v Liverpool tomorrow. GO BLUES!!!

Looking like Chelsea won't be caught. That's what I'm hoping!

Who do you think will make the top 4? Here's my predictions:

1 - Chelsea
2 - Spurs
3 - Arsenal (Yes, for the first time they will finish behind Spurs!)
4 - Liverpool

I think Pool will just beat City out. That could be a toss up. Also, if United make a run, they could clip both of them.

What gives you so much confidence in another underachieving Arsenal team that they will finish above Spurs? I know Spurs tend to choke down the stretch, but Arsenal were lucky to win last weekend. If the proper offsides call were made, they draw.

I think it would be:
1. Chelsea. They are very strong this season
2. City
3. Liverpool
4. Spurs
5. Arsenal

Even though I'm a Gooner, I have to say Spurs been playing well this past 2 seasons.

Ha! I completely agree, I just have a feeling it will finally happen this season! It's funny that Arsenal fans think that's so important. As Ricky Bobby's father said, "If you're not first, you're last".

How do you guys pick a team to follow? I've been to Europe several times but otherwise I have no emotional connection to any city.

I'm just asking out of curiosity not cause I wanna start watching floppers play footsie for 90 mins to result in a 1-1 tie.

So, you basically ask us our advice and then insult us on loving the most popular sport in the world in the same post??
