Ordered placed on Mar 5th, SA requested production week 18, May 2nd.
Right now it is still showing "Order Received", and the status is still 047.
No idea why I have the production number already but the production still delay this much

There have been a lot of delays due to the parts issues. Give Genius a call and see if they have the production week for your order.

As an aside, SA's (or CA's in BMWspeak) can't request a specific production week. That time period depends on the allocation that they have.

Your dealer probably didn't have an allocation when you ordered the car.

Genius told me that the requested production week is May 2, 2022 (week 18). But it has not confirmed yet

Yes, if you have a production number that means you have an allocation.

Thanks！The delay might be because the factory is making i4 instead of m440gc , the Coupe my friend ordered is already in production

I think you are right; I ordered a 440i coupe on 4/5 and it has left the factory as of today and on its' way to the port.

When you put an order in the order bank, it asks for a requested production week. It's always the first week of each month. That said, the OP's order is only an order bank order (Status 47) and the dealer did not have an allocation.

Yes but my understanding is that week will will not correspond to the week of production unless they have an allocation for that week. The week in the order bank is really just a place holder and not tied to when the vehicle will be produced, is that correct?

Exactly. It's just a wishful thought on getting an allocation
