Sorry, but my iPhone decided to take pics in a format that won't work here. I'll post some new ones when I can.

I live in Pennsylvania, USA, and am not trolling. The pics were obviously upright on my computer and they posted as you see. If anybody knows how to turn them, please share. I couldn't figure it out.
I clicked the paper clip and added the photos thru there. Is there another way?

I just got the Australia reference. I guess the excitement of the new car has me off my game.

This can sometimes with mobile photos.

It’s because if you hold the phone such that the camera considers it “upside down” in terms of its actual physical orientation of the camera then the photo will have some metadata in it to tell the photo software to rotate it around 180 degrees. Same with the 90 degree vertical shots.

If the software does not support this properly, then the photos display the wrong way around. It looks like that is what happened here somehow, and on upload the orientation has not been kept.

Without knowing more details about the software(s) used, it’s hard to recommend what to do. But you could try using your photo software and export the photos to a temporary location (as JPGs, as they already are) to see if that saves them out as new files in the right orientation without the need of metadata to instruct the software which way around they should be displayed.

Not quite.

When uploading photos via Bimmerpost mobile app that exceed the max horizontal width or vertical height, Bimmerpost vBulletin forum will rotate them to fit those dimensions.

For example, when you upload a portrait sized image from your mobile device and the height exceeds 1600px, the it will rotate the image sideways. Cropping your image or uploading a vertical/portrait image less than 1600px prevents auto rotation by the forum.

See attached image upload sizing key for Bimmerpost vBulletin:

Wow, really - I didn’t know it did that. (I say wow not because I don’t believe you, but because it makes no sense to me that it would do that as the photo will display in a way the author certainly didn’t intend, so in my mind it would be better just to show an error message.)

Does this happen just through the mobile app, or when uploading using the web browser, too? (I haven’t uploaded many photos here, and the ones I have uploaded have been JPGs within the limitations, and I used the web browser.)

Also, I don’t think the upside-down photo would be auto-rotated in that manner as the dimensions would still remain the same. So perhaps multiple factors at play here, and the vBulletin forum software not recognising or respecting the orientation in the photo metadata as well.
