Michelin Tire Shortage
Heads up folks.....did you know that in addition to everything else...there is a tire shortage...
Picked up a screw in the rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S XL on my way home from Performance Center delivery in my new M440i convertible and have to replace it....dealership says that they can't get one until January and Tire Rack is saying late December.... Be careful out there....

There is a world wide rubber shortage. It's not isolated to just Michelin. I've seen the price of Bridgestone tires for my X7 nearly double in the last 3 months and many people with 22" wheel options aren't able to get replacement tires from any brand.
There's some kind of disease going around affecting rubber trees, reducing their output. Plus all the covid craziness on the logistics industry. I read one report that says the rubber shortage may last 4-7 years as that's how long it takes to plant new rubber trees and have them producing rubber. |
