ENET Cable not working anymore

I have always had luck connecting to bimmercode on my iPhone using an ENET cable and ethernet adapter on my G20. For some reason, I have not been able to connect to bimmercode for weeks. Whenever I go to ethernet settings on my iPhone, an IP address is never assigned, therefore as expected, bimmercode never successfully connects. I am confused why after so many successful coding sessions, nothing works anymore. Could it be that my OBD port went bad, or perhaps the wire? I have followed all instructions and put the car in diagnostic mode but a connection or IP address is never established.

Are you running iOS 15 on your phone?

Asking because I'm in the same boat. Both Bimmercode and Bimmerlink were running great through my ENET cable with a Ethernet-to-Lightning adapter. Bought the new iPhone and suddenly I couldn't connect to the car. I did some research and it's an issue with iOS 15 since the betas. Here's hoping Apple gets their shit together.

Ya running IOS 15. I was having some problems connecting a couple of months back as well on IOS 14, but before it would work better.

Gotcha. I've read that people have been able to use OBD adapters, either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, successfully. Still, I'd rather have my ENET cable. I'm never comfortable running wireless for anything I'd want to be reliable.

iOS15 on an 12 Pro... neither Bimmer Code nor Link work for me right now.

Awesome

Edit to add: just tried BimmerLink on an iPad with ios14 and it worked fine.

Confirmed it's a ios15 issue. I heard if you go to your WiFi settings and click the little "I" next your network, then turn off private address it'll work.

Can someone try it and report back? I'm still on ios14

Just saw that update is now available to fix the Apple Watch unlock bug. It's downloading now. I'll test it out once it's done installing.

To follow up on my last post. iOS update 15.0.1 installed. ENET still doesn't work with the iPhone. I did tested successfully using my partner's Samsung Galaxy S10. Brought the Lightning to Ethernet adapter in and tested a connection to my router and wasn't successful either.

It worked again

I had the same issue as others mentioned. I reached out to BimmerCode and they suggested to replace the adapter with a MiFi certified lighting connect.

Bought one and it worked again.

Hope this helps.

Took your advice and bought this one:

https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B099K2B2...SYJA389HMFX4Z7

There's a review that says it works with the 13 Pro Max, which was enough to convince me not to get the $95 Belkin option

So glad the lightning connector they suggested on their site no longer works.

Awesome. More e-waste.

Can confirm that the MFi Lightning to Ethernet adapter works like a charm. No clue what to do with my old one now

Found this thread with a Google search after sweating my balls off in the hot car for 45 minutes tearing my hair out unable to connect via ENET to my G30.

Was just in to the stealership for my 2 year oil service and a recall. The recall was software related so the tech updated my iDrive and I lost all my coding.

Now I can't recode due to this iOS bug

Anybody made any progress?

Well, apparently iOS 15 is the problem, but fixes started being implemented with version 15.2

I updated to iOS v15.3 and tried again with success on the ENET cable and Bimmercode. Let's hope Apple does not break it again.

I had also issues connecting via ENET cable and Lightning adapter. Got new MFi certified one but did not help. Only allowing BC access to "Local Network" in the iOS settings for the app did the trick.
