Minimum spacer size for rear?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if there's a minimum spacer size for the rears on our g20's? I know that when I had my f30, 12mm was the smallest size you could run for the rears. Thanks in advance!

Don't you mean maximum size? Running small spacers would not create any issues. It's the larger size spacers that may cause issues depending on the size of your tires/rims/offset and if you have lowering springs. I've seen 10mm through 20mm spacers offered for the G20. Keep in mind, a 10mm spacer is less than half an inch. I'm running 15mm spacers on all 4 of my stock 19-inch rims with 225/40/19 tires (square set-up) and they look perfect.

Hey thanks for your reply

I actually did mean minimum. Like I stated, for some reason with the f30, you could only use 12mm and up for the rears. Anything under 12mm wouldn't work. So I was wondering if it's the same for this chassis. I'm not on stock wheels, I'm actually running 19x9.5 with 265/30 tires in the rear so I'd want to experiment with smaller sized spacers (sizes 10mm and under)

Do you have pictures of your setup? Are you using lug bolts still or did you do a lug conversion?

I can take pictures. The spacers come with new extended lugs.

The F30 needed spacers with built-in hubs for less than 12mm, like the TurnerSports spacers.

hey i was looking to add spacers on my 2020 m340i so that the wheels look like they fit right into the wheel arches. How did your vehicle hold up with spacers? Does this void warranty?

Thanks for the response!

I have not had any issues with my spacers on my 2021 M340. As a matter of fact, I've run spacers on my last 3 cars and never had any problems. As mentioned above, I currently have 15mm spaces on my fronts and rears with my stock 19" 792 rims and they look perfect - the wheel comes out flush with the wheel opening of the fender.

In terms of voiding the warranty, you may want to search this forum, but I am not familiar with any situations. If you were to have an issue with your steering, front suspension or front wheels, a dealer may try to place the blame on the spacers. Just to be on the safe side, my advice would be to remove the spacers if you plan to take your vehicle to the dealer for service related to an issue with your front wheels, steering or front suspension.

Hi guys, I tried searching the forum but didn't have much luck finding the answer, this is the most recent and closest thread related to my question. I hope OP don't mind me posting here.

I have a set of aftermarket wheels purchased from a friend of mine and I am afraid of the risk of the lug bolts being too long, damaging the parking brake.

May I kindly ask if anyone know what is the minimum safe length extending from the back of the wheel for our cars are and what is the maximum safe length (before it damages the parking brake?).

What about for the front, length shouldn't be an issue right, there won't be risk of damaging the ABS sensor?

Thanks!
