My car came with the staggered MPS4s. 8 x 8.5 19" non run flats too. Wondering if i can go 245/40/19 x 265/35/19 or just settle for the 235/40/19 in the front like you did.

What did you end up getting? Ill get my m340ix in a few days. It has the Bridgestone runflats which I plan to change to PS4S 235/40/19 and 265/35/19 right away. I want to make sure this size works. Thanks!

I settled on 235/40 x 265/35 because tire rack didn't have any previous purchases with 245x265 combo, so they couldn't recommend that combination. Getting them put on today actually.

Great! Please give us feedback on this: ride/comfort, steering feel, handling, and compatibility with the xdrive. Thank you! Also perhaps a picture of how it looks on the car.

Im actaully RWD, staggered setup. Car came with 225x255 MPS4S summers non run-flat.

I fitted Michelin AS4s 235x265. Took off my 15x12 spacers (front/rear).

For my taste, fitment wise, i may add 8mm spacers on the front/back for perfect fitment but it isn't too far off as is. Fronts bother me more than the back visually.

No rubbing issue at all and I immediately felt more direct steering and slightly better turn in. The car should come from factory with 235 x 265

I did take a small 300 mile road trip.
but still the tires aren't quite broken in fully so i cant expect to feel 100% of the change yet. I wanted the extra rubber for more grip so we'll see after 500 miles. Also, I have a mission performance stage 2 (roughly 480whp) on the car now and the back got squirmy a couple times during sudden acceleration in sport +/traction mode. That should change... Although these are all season tires.

I can say these tires specifically feel softer. Like pillows compared to the MPS4Ss i switched out... but this isn't a tire review.

I'll upload pics soon.

I ran 245/40-19 on 8.5inch ET30 wheels no problem but if you have a lower offset like et40 it could be too close to the suspension.

Hmm. I would like to run this wheel squared on 245s.

OEM 19" 791M Double Spoke Jet Black Light Alloy Wheel - 19 x 8.5J ET:40 - Part # 36118090095

I wonder if adding spacers would allow it to clear both the strut & fender liner. There is an 8" version with an ET27 but I dont think a 245 would look good on an 8" wheel.

It should work with the appropriate spacer in the front., a spacer will change your ET like a 10mm spacer on a ET40 wheel make it effectively ET30

That may be my backup plan now.

My goal is to fit HRE ff11’s 19x9 square on 265s. My buddy has 5x112 wheels and tires in sizes that will help determine my fitment. I need to figure out offsets still. Stay tuned.

Edit: 9” wheels, not 9.5”

At ET30 no spacers absolutely no rubbing with AD08R tires.

Next summer I try 255/40-19 Eagle Supercar 3

Michelin CrossClimate2

This Crossclimate2 would seem to be an excellent all-weather choice....has anyone fitted the 235/40 19 size to replace standard (Pirrelli) runflat 225/40 19 square setup? (2021 M340i X-Drive)

I dont have a square set up.

With staggered fit I would say that 295 is the max wide without rubbing and poke.

So, adding to the questions... My 22MY M340i xDrive that is being built will come with staggered 19 x 8 F and 19 x 8.5 R wheels with 225 F and 255 R tires. Can I go from this staggered setup to a square set up of Factory 19 x 8.5 wheels and the 255/35/19s all around? I've been reading threads about changes in wheel and tire sizes messing up the xDrive, so I would keep everything at stock measurements, I'd just be buying a pair of 19 x 8.5 stock BMW wheels to replace the 19 x 8 fronts. Would this be ok for xDrive and ok with stock suspension?

You do not have to worry about messing up xdrive with a squared setup. This is only a concern when doing staggered setups and the circumference of the wheel/tire is greater than 1-2%(please verify) between the front and rear axle.

In terms of fitting the 255 up front. Based on some other setups I have seen posted, I believe the 19x8.5 will fit, however, you will probably need at least a 10mm spacer to bring the wheel outward. I think that ET40 in the front would be too close to the suspension. Again, please verify this.

I am in the planning stages of trying to figure out if I can fit a 265/35/19 x 9" wheel in the front and rear. If not, I would also buy 4 of the 19x 8.5 ET40 wheels and run 255s squared with spacers in the front.

Ohhhh, so the 1-2% is the difference between the front and rear sizes, not a 1-2% change from the stock diameter? I've got to say, my confusion of what is and is not doable with the xDrive system is very high.

I don't know where the 1% (and now 2% is mentioned) as "safe" difference between front and rear for xDrive comes from. What I know is that BMW documents instructs that tread difference between tyres in all wheel positions must not exceed 2 mm. 2 mm difference in effective radius would correspond to about 0.6%. The same rule applies to square and staggered (BMW approved) setup.
