Update: If you have the 285kw M340i (Australia) you cannot buy a supported model from just anywhere, it's only available from RaceChip Australia directly, incidentally they seem to.be much better to deal with anyway in terms of getting details about the tune etc.

A piggyback tune cannot change the exhaust note or add burbles and pops. If ur adding more boost and the engine is working harder, it will get slightly louder.

No a piggyback (JB+, JB4, Racechip etc..) is limited in its' capabilities and has no ability to control exhaust tone in any significant way. You will need a flash (Mission Performance, MHD, BM3, Carbauhn etc...) for that

hi mike, that is what i thought too as i only heard that racechip are not compatible with cars that have been ecu flash tuned. what i did was a xhp gearbox flash.
all the car workshops here are not too sure about whether installing a racechip for me will have any issues as they get their stock from this local distributor and what this distributor says is a xhp tune will not be compatible with racechip. are you sure that i can install a racechip even with a xhp tune mike? |

As for Racechip, it works by increasing boost like any other piggyback system. I can't see how that would cause any issues with your XHP transmission tune. And if it did cause problems for Racechip, it would likely be an issue for all piggybacks, but that doesn't seem to be the case. 😊

Maintaining a good relationship with your service advisor is key, and giving them a small tip can help ensure a hassle-free experience with your mods. It's a good idea to consistently request the same service advisor, and show appreciation with tips, and it doesn't hurt that many of the service team members are customers of Extreme Power House! dm me which one you are interested in and I'll make it happen
