So X4MC is on top of the shopping list at the moment.
I came from a Gran Coupe as well, lovely vehicle. From everything I've heard thus far, the new 4 GC will have the hatchback/lift-back. It wont have the door handles anymore though, it'll have the Tesla/Velar type handles that are flush.

I am guessing you haven't seen M3 and its new "boldness"?

6-series successor is 8-series. Aka, 4-series competition isn't A7, Panamera, CLS, S-class coupe/convertible etc, it's the 8 (depending on the 8's body style).

Without a doubt it's an overpriced uglier mustang gt. And probably less of an "ultimate driving machine" than the mustang

I have to be honest. I hate the way the rear 2/3rds looks more than the grille. It just look so generic.

M440xi

I just took delivery of my M440xi. The car is extremely fast and handles better then my previous 440xi. Unlike many people I like the grille and all the lines of the car. I also ordered the car in San Remo green. Outrageous color

Thank you! Glad that you enjoyed it.

Absolutely agree - performance and engineering wise the car is next level compared to the previous model and that's coming from an F36 owner.

While looks are subjective, I think the 4 series has always been the BOLD model BMW's lineup and they have the 3 series for those, for who the 4 is ''too much''

Boring! The F82 already looks better than the 8.

Yes the F82 is also a good looking car.

IMO the M8 coupe and M2 are the best looking Bmw's of recent times. In terms of looks they're next level. But looks are subjective - to each their own

And yup, it's a shame everyone only talks about the looks of the car, while completely ignoring that the new 4 series might be one of the best driver cars made in years. Superb comfort and refinement and yet a brutal engine and tons of power.

Hopefully as some time passes, people will get used to the looks and will start to acknowledge the other aspects of the car.

The AWD M4 will def do 3.5 from 0-62. Maybe even faster.
I love mine

A manufacture trying hard to justify their controversial and disliked decision, shocking!

And no, the future is with anything that brings the right characteristics and beauty. Anything but a post 2018 new BMW.

If that's what you look for in your BMW, this car is for you.

Actually, looking at the specs owners are focusing on, they are exactly the right audience for this car.
right, because if dont have 90k to spend on an M car, youre a scumbag and definitely not a real bmw owner. installing coilovers and maybe a strut brace, thats for morons who like working on their cars, definitely not something we do here.

How will that remove weight from the car? How will coil overs eliminate the understeer? (Or override the “safe” tuning of the xDrive system).

FYI, an M2 is under $60k, and CPO F80/F82’s abound in the market for similar prices. If you really were about a better handling car at the M440i price bracket, you could easily find one. Some are even made by BMW.

But you like the new toy, good for you, keeps the economy going and BMW going strong. Just let it go with talks about handling and balance, this pig won’t dance.
