It sounds like your friend didn’t want to waste 2 mins a week wiping the stains off his leather fwiw, I’ve only has cream beige, oyster, opal white and ivory interiors in the past 14 years and with a quick wipe, no jeans or dirt staining at all at trade in time. The nice thing about light leather is you know where the dirt is and where to clean

I traded down from a pretty well equipped g05 (Exec pkg, and a ton of other useless but fancy options) into a moderately equipped 430 x-drive, and there’s nothing I wish I had added to this one. This doesn’t feel like a downgrade to me at all, and it’s so much more fun to drive. I miss the heated arm rests and soft close doors though, but they weren’t an option.

I've had a cognac interior for 2 years now, and am almost always wearing jeans when I drive. No issues at all, so I doubt you will either.

Regarding moonroof, I wish BMW offered a skylight / non-opening glass with a shade. I rarely open our moonroof but I do appreciate the light it provides when the shade is open.

I got most of the options except phone charger, remote-start and rear heated seats. I've been and done black-out and chrome delete on my prior car so shadowline was never an option for me. Maybe the brake cooling package, but then again I probably won't ever be on a track.

I personally got it so I wouldn't be stuck with runflats. Getting a larger front brake rotor and caliper is an added bonus

Regret not getting the heated steering wheel. Otherwise, happy with pretty much a base-model M340i.

Nice to haves/cool features would have been HUD, 360* parking assist, individual color, and H/K sound system but no major regrets here really

I wish I could scream this... but here we go.

I regret not getting the upgraded audio package. I cannot say this enough, the HiFi system is absolute dog shit. It's hands down, the muddiest, worst sounding system I've ever heard in a car over 35k. It's comical how bad it is and frankly insulting.

Just use a ceramic coating applied to your leather. Inexpensive and easy to use. I have Oyster Merino leather with no stains in 8 months. I have a dog Albeit not large at 15lbs but his dirty paw prints wipe off easily.

I got the spare tire option with the PS4 non run flats and I’m glad I did.

How did you order the PS4s? As far as I know, even if you get the ZTK package, you have no idea what you will get for tires. May be Pirelli summer tires but I'm really keeping my fingers crossed I'll get the Michelins.

Ceramic coating for leather?? Wow, I had no idea there was such a thing. Does that make the leather shiny though?

Absolutely not! The leather stays the same. The coating also locks in the leathers natural oils so you don't need to moisturize.

To be honest, I think those 2 features should be standard on all M340I. The M340I my dealership gets usually don't have adaptive suspension and I don't know why that is. Almost all the X3 M40I have it. I test drove an M340I without adaptive and the ride was a bit harsh. 330I and 430i suspension is ok though, not as rough. I've driven those a lot lately.

Because anytime they can squeeze more money out of you, they will. So you're getting a lot of seat time with loaners?

Never tried the adaptive suspension but from what I read on here I’m thinking it’s something I’d have ordered on a custom build. Other than that the the PS4s but those are an easy fix. I don’t really care for all the auto driving/parking features in the executive package. I just wish these things came with ventilated seats

Just to nitpick, the Executive package doesn't come with the auto parking feature. It's a separate add-on option BMW wants to charge you for. I didn't need the "Driving Assistance Package" but was forced to get it simply because I wanted the HK audio. Talk about messed up.

I wished that HUD wasn't included in the EXE pkg, this turn out to be a very disappointing option. It is so limited to what it shows and I always keep looking at the dash anyhow to see the numbers more clearly. On the sport view it only shows the RPM in a graph form that is totally useless and way too small a total waste, do we really need to constantly see the sped and speed limit. I now just turn it off.

I agree that the HUD tach is kinda useless. But other than that I love the HUD - I think it has quite a bit of info: speed, speed limit, navigation directions, track list etc.

I drove an M4, a 440 w/o Adaptive, and a 440 w/ Adaptive back to back to back in laps on the same sections of road a while back (spent about 3 hours driving around with a BMW Genius).

Adaptive is a must have for me.
