Does delivery to the Performance Center take longer than delivery to the Dealer?

Was your car a Mexico build? Dealer told me 3 weeks yesterday. Your timeline seems more realistic.
Germany.....

Yes, a bit....they actually want the car there for at least 2 weeks whereas your dealership can deliver in 1-3 days after they get it....the rest of the process times are pretty much the same..

So it may take a bit longer but I think that the experience will be worth it!!

I'm sure it will be a blast, and we'd love to do it. The drive from SC to NC would also put some good break-in miles on the new car, but in the meantime, we're a one-car family. It's already getting old, so we're not wild about adding another couple of weeks with only one car.

If you have the opportunity to do Performance Center Delivery you ABSOLUTELY should do it. The experience is outstanding. You’ll create really fun memories. It’s worth going a couple of extra weeks with only one car.

Probably not. This one-car routine is getting old after just 2 weeks, and we have at least another 8 to go. Also, we'd have to pay a pet sitter to come by our house twice a day to pill the cat, and unless the hotel allows pets, we have an energetic Springer Spaniel who would have to come with us.

Rent a car.....rent a pet sitter.....this is a once in a lifetime experience .....only thing better would have been european delivery....

I did the Performance Center 20 years ago with my e39 M5 and still think about it....I missed PCD last year with my M340 due to covid and hope I don't miss out again this year

I can't wait for the PCD! My wife and I are renting a car to drive there. Then afterwards we're stopping in Savannah for a couple nights on way back to FL. Should be a great trip!

So my car is still listed as ready to transport. Been at that status for about 9 days. I called genius and was told they are really backed up. They couldn't give me any info on next time ship will be picking up more cars. Not sure when next ship to east coast is? I'm doing PCD delivery so I believe the port will be New Brunswick. Also, My BMW app is really far behind true time.. Mine still says final assembly and car finished assembly 10 days ago.

What is this BMW app you speak of? I found the "My BMW" app for ioS, but it doesn't seem to work if all I have is a production number.

I know, but that's not an "app". It's a website.

I have the app, but it doesn't allow tracking production. You can only add a vehicle that you already have that can receive a confirmation code.

My car took 2 weeks to load in Bremerhaven....left on 8/19 and expected in Charleston on 9/07 where it will be unloaded for PCD.....my ship is in port now in Brunswick, Georgia...(New Brunswick is New Jersey)...my PCD is 10/05

You can see what ships are due into port using any of the ship tracking websites

When did they contact you to confirm PCD dates? I thought it was only about a 2 week notice but it looks like you got about a month. Thanks for the info!
