Brake/wheel scraping noise
Today while I was driving, my car was making a very loud scraping, rubbing noise coming from the right side of the car. The noise was noticeable whether or not I was on the brakes. I pulled over to inspect the wheels and brakes and could not find anything visually wrong from my perspective.
Then after pulling away, a mile or so down the road the noise went away completely and has been fine since. Has anyone experienced this and have any ideas as to what could've caused this? |

Yep. Small stone caught between the pad and rotor. Happened to me while I was on the trails a couple of weeks back. It was bad! Finally gave up on going slow and hammered the gas up to 60 and after about 10 seconds it finally dislodged. It happens.

Had the same thing after some road works - a stone got stuck on the front right between the rotor and the "splash guard". I could not free the stone. Tried going forwards, backwards was stuck in there. Ended up pulling over taking off the wheel and with a screwdriver got the stone out.
This seems like a bad design flaw. |
