Week 36 Build Date M440i
Hi Everybody,
I ordered my first ever BMW on August 5th, and I've been sitting in Status 112 since! I've been told my Requested Build Week is Week 35 and Confirmed Build Week is Week 36. I would think that even if it's Week 36 it should have moved to Status 150. Anybody else out there waiting on a Week 36 build or have any advice??? |

Hey, here's what I know from other member posts.
I ordered 8/9, was told week 35 by SA, then confirmed on the genius line build week is 36. (9/6- /10) Mine is a Germany allocation and build. M340i X Drive. Other members have said that the build week is actually the completion week, and that the build starts one week prior. So, that would mean our week 36 builds should start production tomorrow, 8/30. Will check my status on MyBMW, and call the genius line for an update if the website shows no movement tomorrow. As far as advice goes, I'd hit the gym, then start drinking heavily. The wait is painful. |

We’re in the same boat, figuratively and maybe literally. My 2022 Arctic Race Blue M440i x-Drive with with Tacoma leather red interior and 19” cerium gray wheels was ordered August 5th.
You won’t believe me when I tell you that this is my second wait. I ordered this same car on June 5th and when model switched from 2021 to 2022 my order was switched due to a change in the high performance package and they built the car with black rims instead of gray. Some may call me crazy, but I declined to take it when they tried to deliver early August. So this is my second wait, the first one I didn’t start tracking on my BMW until after the car was built, so this stage is new for me. I know, crazy story… |

wow, that is rough, but better to wait and get exactly what you want. I wouldn't settle.
Really hope we'll see some movement to production by tomorrow or at least this week. I saw an Arctic Race Blue convertible with Oyster interior in my area last week. Gotta tell you, I was really impressed with the color in person. Way better than in photos. Going to look amazing with the red Tacora which I've seen in person on a black 440I coupe. |

This would seem to support the info that the week # is actually the week scheduled for completion with production starting the previous week. I've had two Geniuses tell me that my week 37 build will start on 9/6, which is actually week 36. The Genius I spoke with this morning, however, said week 37 = 9/13. I pressed the previous two about the date, and they insisted that their calendar said 9/6 - 9/10.

@springerdrive
Everything that I’ve read here and elsewhere leads me to believe that the status changes to “Production Begins” the week before the confirmed build week. Now what I expect is no movement on the website for about 10-12 days and then all of the sudden it’s in “Final Assembly.” I think you’ll see a status change next week. |

Checked my status 36 build today, and still stuck in scheduled for production. Spoke directly to a Genius today, and the word is this. Build week is in fact the week it gets completed. Mine is still 9/5-9/12. I could go into production at any moment, or not at all this week. Build week could also get pushed out. grantj1983, awesome that you've gone into production. I'll report back this week if there is a change to my status. |

Keep in mind, that since the build time is 7 to 10 days in the factory according to the genius, you may not see "gone into production" on this coming Monday for your week 37 build.
It could take the better part of next week to see the status change. It won't effect your completion date, unless another issue comes up at the factory. One thing the genius mentioned is that a priority one color, like we have, could push out the build week. I believe you ordered Tanzanite? I ordered Dravit. |

I wish I could find a really big distraction from the anticipation for the next couple of weeks! There's a degree of low-level insanity involved. After all, it's just a car. A very, very nice car, but still, a car. If I had it right now, it would just be sitting in front of our house until I go to the grocery store later- but I'd be able to oogle it from our kitchen window.

Beautiful car 😍
I’m glad I have someone to commiserate with. I’ve gone back to My Garage at least 10 times today, and I’m a functioning human being, believe it or not! Last edited by grantj1983; 08-30-2021 at 04:05 PM.. Reason: Adding a photo |

Pretty sure the no photo thing is just a BMW website glitch. Other members also said they had no photo in their timeline. Let's see photos when your car arrives. Help us poor, stressed out people waiting, by giving us something to look forward to. Be interesting, if yours is a 2022, if the Parking Assistance Package with 3D 360 view is included. Many waiting on their 2022's are curious about that. Thanks! |

Hope that means, that future 2022's coming in the next few months, are properly equipped coming right out of the factory, with no issues of retrofits for camera modules, etc. |
