Which Germany Plant?
Does anyone know for sure which plant in Germany builds the M340i?
I did an extensive search, and only came up with the "3 series" being built in the Munich plant. Thanks! |

Dingolfing makes 4,5,6,7 and 8 series cars. The 3 series is made in the Munich plant, which isn't far from Dingolfing but a different facility.

The G20 is only produced in the Munich Plant or the Mexican Plant for all markets globally. As previously mentioned, 4 series production moved the Dingolfing plant. Still in Bavaria but in the countryside. The Munich plant is in the middle of the city

My 2020 M340 Xdrive was built in Munich, but I think that with the opening of the plant in Mexico, they are switching M340 there, at least for North America

Cars with certain options, like special ($1,500) colors are only built in Germany. I've heard that this will eventually change when the Mexico plant is ready.

For 2022 are there still M340 allocations still coming from Germany?
for 2022 MY BMW upgraded SLP to handle the special paints (they are now available on both M340s and 330s) |

My non-priority 1 paint 2022 was also made in Germany. When I was car shopping, I saw maybe 5 2022 German made M340i's in Southern California out of maybe 80 or so cars (3 were priority 1 paint options).
The Munich plant will continue to support NA 3 series, albeit, at far lower levels than SLP. SLP is also supporting a large portion of the RHD markets i.e. Australia and Japan so maybe when the RHD orders fill up capacity, some NA allocations overflow to Munich.
