BMW Road Safety Camera
Anyone bought this off BMW Digital Services price starts at £20 for basic, it alerts you to fixed cameras, I’ve already got a Road Angel so just wondered if this is more accurate and worth buying it’s certainly cheaper than the Angel but I’m finding the Angel is never up to date
certainly not in North Yorkshire. |

Waze is an app that's free to download and I use it via Apple Carplay to display on the centre screen; it works as sat-nav if you want and notifies you of things like traffic delays, roadworks, etc. It also warns you of the presence of mobile cameras but that does rely on a Waze user having been past the site and registered its location (hence my comment about it not being any help if you're the first user to pass a camera after it's been set-up). However, it's assisted me on several occasions by warning a camera van's in the vicinity!
In terms of the BMW fixed camera warning, I think it's worth it for £20 but its effectiveness will depend on where you do your driving - I'm not sure there are any fixed cameras in North Yorkshire but it's potentially useful if you also drive in places where there are. |

I’ve always used the Cyclops app that is very reliable in terms of notifications (including audible) but has recently only done so (i.e. audible alerts) when my iPhone’s screen is lit rather than in “background mode” (Cyclops has recently had a lot of trouble with Apple changing code apparently).
The BMW app is equally reliable but has a huge flaw in that alerts are visual only (dashboard as I never use my HUD). If only it also played audible alerts, it would be perfect! |

I bought this and it’s amazing. So far it’s been faultless with all cameras including red light, average speed and temporary roadworks average speed cameras. Not had the pleasure yet of a mobile speed gun/van so can’t comment on those.

Received and used the app although had a problem receiving in the car had to phone BMW talked through and ended up saying there was a problem sometimes however it came through overnight very pleased and well worth the money, it reminds me about the specs cameras between the Shiptonthorpe /Market Weighton Roundbout though to the coast don’t know how far they go as I turn off into Cherry Burton.

Either. You choose. Although often, whatever you chose, it reverts back to instrument cluster at some point regardless.
