Power gate no more

Just got an email from the dealership: Due to part shortage, BMW deleted option 316 (power gate) from all 2022 3 and 4 -

I hate to touch the trunk to close it.

But digital key is back.

Disappointing. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out next year. Doesn't appear to be getting better.

Weird. They didn’t remove it from my build, which is currently in production. 2022 MY.

What is the status of your order? Not in production yet I assume.

It cloud be yours are in production. My just update to "scheduled for production". The option is removed from my build on My Garage tracking.

BMW must've just changed this. My 22 MY has it but it is a July build.

Where do you see BMW digital key is back available now? I'm about to build a new M440 and would much rather have that, then power tailgate trunk.

IMO, the power tailgate is much better than the digital key. I was meh on if my car had the power tailgate or not, but now that I have it I love it.

I ordered the power tailgate by mistake (thought it was the foot release) and was excited about the digital key. Have used the digital key twice. Tailgate all the time. With a fob the car unlocks when you get close, a phone you have to get everything lined up.

Agreed. It’s more work to take the phone out of my pocket and align it right than to just use comfort access.
