2022 models with iDrive 8

My lease is up 7/2022 on my 2020 M340ix.

Any consolidated information on iDrive 8 availability for 2022 G20/26 models? There’s not much else out to consider car wise (I have an SQ5 and hate the Audi MMI) other than stepping down to a G70/80, so I always end up back at BMW but don’t really want to pick up the exact same car for another 3 years.

I don’t think I want to do EV yet—I had preordered an i4 M50 but I drive >300mi regularly in one sitting. Considered a base Lucid but I don’t know that timing will work out.

Anyway… iDrive 8 info?

iDrive 8 only available in MY2022 i4 and iX, then starting on the MY2023 3- and 4-Series and other models.

Correct. We need to wait for the LCI update for 2023 to get iDrive8 on the M340i. Which means waiting till mid to end of 2022 although you can place a deposit and initiate the build probably by summer 2022 - as per the dealer's current time estimates. Its a toss up between going for the 2022 or waiting for the LCI - I'm still going back and forth on that one too.

I would get a base model M3 if they didn’t restrict options on them.. you can’t get the driving assist pro without doing the M3C and I use it all the time :/

Yeah I thought about that too - but ruled it out since the M340i needs to be a all year car for me and I want all the options I can get plus with the winters we get - the M3 doesent make sense as a year round ride to me with the price tag it comes with.

Yea- while the price overlap drives a theoretical comparison, I don't think many people seriously cross shop ordering a car loaded with options vs ordering a different car without any options. I know I don't.
