Hi guys,

Just wondered if any UK M340i owners have considered the M Performance Exhaust?

Not sure if it’s available here but I came across this US thread and it seems to be a great upgrade if you want a deeper exhaust note!

Probably wont get them here due to emissions laws
I never did get the mppk on my 340 as I didn't like the sound, too blary and pops and bangs. I just wanted a deeper louder sound which the m340 seems to have. MPE seems to sound good on them though.

Oh I didn’t even think of the emissions! That’s a big shame if we can’t get them here as you can order one from Germany for £1500!

I collect my M340i today.

I asked the gargare to order the exhaust for the US market using code 18302464492 and have it fitted from new but they are struggling to fit it as the pipes are different. They have to get hangers and adapt.

They have also warned me I shouldn't have it fitted as it may not comply with EU regs.

Did you have this done at a main dealer when ordering?
Approx cost?
Warranty issues?

The issue with MPE is not with emissions but with homologation. It's not legal to sell an exhaust in Germany (and some other countries) that is not homologated, and for whatever reason BMW had decided not to make a homologated exhaust for the G20/G21.

AC Schnitzer have made a quad exhaust which is homologated and therefore legal in Germany, the UK and elsewhere. It is designed for a deeper, sportier sound and is only available for the M340i with carbon fibre tailpipes (four x 90mm diameter).

For 320i and 330i you have a choice of 4 x chrome or black ceramic tailpipes in addition to carbon.

Unfortunately due to the state of the Pound/Euro we're having a Skype meeting this morning to discuss a possible price increase. We've already absorbed a 2.8% price increase from AC Schnitzer this year. If you're seriously interested I can let you know what we can do, if anything, after the meeting.

Thanks Lorcan I appreciate the offer. My car hasn't made it to me before the dealer closed and i am now on half pay so nice exhausts have to move down the priority list sadly.

We've had a chat with AC Schnitzer in Germany and they are going to do what they can to support us during this period. Most people are taking a hit one way or another, and we appreciate that aftermarket exhausts are hardly an "essential" item at this time.

Yes ordered at Chandlers Hailsham and paid but they fitted it and then said it wont work as it rubs and will cause vibration. I went in and saw the exhaust and they had taken the factory one off. Cost was £1500. Ended up getting a refund and didnt have to pay for their labour trying to make it work.

AC Schnitzer are supporting us through this crisis preventing any price increases (unless the Pound goes completely AWOL like oil) so the price is £3324.53 as published:

Not cheap, I know, but a really nice product that makes the best of the sound available without altering the emissions or messing up your warranty.
