While I by no means try and hit the limit, I am always surprised by how calmly and easily my 330i reaches 100-110 mph. Usually, my girlfriend doesn't even notice it.

Yup. The G20 masks speed really well. Even better than my ex-A4.

+1. I know exactly what you mean. The car is so smooth & with the automatic transmission, I have caught myself going over the speed limit by a bunch

As for the subject of this thread, I hit 142mph (140 actual-- remember BMW speedos overstate speed by 2 mph typically), but that was on the back straight at VIR. Having said that, I still have a bit to go to reach Car's max speed of 155mph

Just under 150 mph on the back straight of Watkins Glen in my e39 M5....have had faster lap times in my e46 Dinan M3 and my M2 but only got just over 140 mph in those cars....
