Anyone upgraded the subwoofer in their i4 with HK Audio package?

You can replace the OEM 8" woofer (8ohms) with woofers from Bavsound or Bimmertech - they will be plug and play. You may not hear much of a difference as they will be powered by the same OEM Booster as the OEM woofer.

If you want a louder and deeper subwoofer from the same OEM enclosure, and with the capability of adjusting how much louder and deeper you want the subwoofer to be, then replace the OEM woofer with a SWS-8Xi (2ohms) and add a dedicated sub aftermarket amp to the OEM Booster, something like a KEY500.1 mono amp. This will allow you to better blend the subwoofer loudness to the rest of the HK system, adjusting how loud and deep you want it depending on your music taste.
