Jb4 worth it.

So first bmw and it’s a 20 m340 love the car just would like to be in the 11s . The car is a lease so there’s that . I’m leaning towards the jb4 for the simplicity and safety compared to tuning their car .

Will I notice a big difference from stock to the stage 2 jb4 map?

Thanks for any input new to bmw period come from tuning 5.0 mustangs which were bullet proof on tune only

In my experience, and I've had both products on cars in the past. The car just runs smoother and better with a flash tune. There's also the fact that it makes more power with a flash tune. My opinion is that having the computer that was designed for the car do all the work is better then using an external controller. Again thats my opinion though. I dont think you will be disappointed with the extra power from either one.

The JB4 is the go-to tune for any car that is leased or under warranty. Can't do quite as much as a full ECU tune but gets you close and offers a lot of great features too like CANflap, boost by gear, on the fly map changes, E85 support, and others.

it's a big difference between stock and stage 2. We offer the Jb4 with a 14-day money-back guarantee. Give it a try and let us know how it goes

Hey Mike, are there flash tunes available for the 2021 model 340xi yet? I know the DME has to be sent in for the 2020 so I am guessing its the same for the 2021 if its available. Do you know if they are tune-able yet?

I tested jb4 at the drag strip, map1 was same as stock and map2 was 4mph and 4 tenths slower than stock.

It doesn't work on this platform, flash is required I suspect due to torque limitation.

As long as you are okay with sending the DME, you should be able to get the 2021 flashed

Same even map 5 wasn’t really quicker then stock car, the jb4 on this platform is pretty subpar

Doesnt really make sense if you know how JB4 works. What do the datalogs show? Did you work with their support? Go on their forums?

BMS owns a G20 M340 among other B58 vehicles, zero issues adding performance with it. We run it also on our Z4.

It's not possible for a map to go slower unless you're riding some sort of octane limitation or have something set dramatically wrong.

Our last JB4 Z4 dyno:

Seems like a lot of people say the jb4 isn’t worth it . I only plan on stage 2 at the most . Just want a noticeable difference for the money invested

Fuel-It originally posted that information in their post from February regarding this run. It can be found here. Also some good info on results on Map 1 vs 2 and 91 pump gas.

According to the Fuel-IT published dyno, a JB4 with 91 octane, a downpipe, and BMS intake is delivering:

Map 1: +28 wheel horsepower vs stock wheel horsepower
Map 2: +35 wheel horsepower vs stock wheel horsepower

So noticeable difference? Sure. Worth the money? Up to you :-)

They were just taking it easy on the off brand 91 octane gas we had in there, I've seen others make 450whp on 91 octane without much drama.
