Do you have a Mexico build? According to customer relations, mine showed up at port in Mexico yesterday, but it says in transit on the tracker online.

I've had an order (2021 M340i) in "Scheduled for Production" status for nearly 2 weeks now. Hoping production starts sooner rather than later, but I have no way to know what a realistic time-frame is.

Anyone else in a similar position?

How recently was that? And how long until it moved along to the next stage, and so on and so forth? Thanks! Just trying to get any idea of what a Covid related timeline looks like.

I'm in the same boat. However your CA should be able to provide you the scheduled week for production. Mine shows on my order, I'm looking at a week 32 for production which should be the first week in August.

I’m in a similar boat I placed my order a little over a week ago. I haven’t gotten a production or vin # yet and my ca hasn’t given me a estimated time but I’m expecting given the time table of everyone else I should be getting the car some time September.

On a side note does anyone know on avg how much time it adds to do a PCD delivery? My thought process is it’s a Mexico build and its a way shorter distance to get to SC then it is to get to NJ.

PCD delivery normally adds 3-4 weeks to the timeline.

From what I've heard it is. I was hoping to do it this time around, but the plant shutdowns killed my timeline. Will likely do PCD for next order.

Our PCD experience had to be cancelled due to COVID and concerns with chronic medical conditions that we cannot change. BMW has been excellent with communicating and understanding, and we will be given an email voucher for the BMW 101 Experience which is good for 1 year to hopefully let the COVID simmer down and become less severe. It is similar to the new car delivery....just you are not picking up YOUR car there. We will already have it. The car is supposedly in the shop at the port getting inspected and having the MPE installed. It should be at the dealership next Thursday or Friday. We plan to go down there Friday (6 hour drive) and spend the night and pick up the car Saturday. It is super short notice but I hope we can have the front protected with PPF before we drive home Sunday! I hate the idea of Florida bugs on that excellent color paint!

This was the beginning of June. My build timeline is a couple pages back on this forum, but it's a bit weird. It was affected by the plant shutdowns, so it spent considerably more time at early stages. If you want more details about the status of your build you can call BMW NA and ask. They will have details on when your car is scheduled for production, what vessel it is assigned at the port, etc. The number is 1(800)831-1117. Just wait through all of the automated stuff until it asks you what your calling about. Say "customer relations" and they will connect you with someone that can give you status details.

Dude, this is fantastic info. Thank you for that. I'll have to go back and read through your experiences. Much appreciated!

So mine is on the Glovis Cardinal which is expected to dock at NY/NJ August 7. Hopefully it gets there a bit sooner and they can get it to the dealership quickly.

Mine is on the same vessel too and will be offloaded in Galveston. How did you obtain the ETA to NY/NJ?

Called customer relations. My CA confirmed it by sending me a screenshot of his tracker

According to Marinetraffic.com though it looks like it’ll get to Galveston really soon. So you may be in luck depending on how far your dealer is from the port

Once you know what ship it's on, you can track the ship on marinetraffic.com and check on the shipping company's or the port's website for the ship's ETA.
