Spoke to my dealer yesterday and we’re back to “we’re waiting for the workshop to get a list, then we can work out what’s got to go back”
It sounded like they were getting their information, more from customers who’d read it places like here, than from BMW themselves. No commitment on timescales and no sense of urgency! Last edited by AD2020; 09-16-2020 at 11:48 AM.. |

@AD2020 agree on the lack of urgency as a company car driver I’m guessing I sit lower down the food chain. If I hadn’t chased I doubt I would have been told anything and but would have worked it out on Friday when the car didn’t appear 🤣

As for the lease company, I’d get more joy phoning the speaking clock, than phoning mine. Even more clueless, if that’s even possible! |

Just heard this morning that my car is clear of all recalls and on the way.
Exact wording from BMW - I can confirm the recall for ‘Check PHEV high-voltage batteries (VDC)’ has been completed and there are no further recalls. All going well the car should be on the driveway within the week. |

How was this news delivered, email, phone? Was it the dealer or BMW head office that let you know? |

I then gave this information to my lease company accompanied by an unreasonable delivery date which started the conversation and I now have a delivery date that suits us both. I used the general email address on the BMW UK website. Response was really quick. I also used the BMW live chat but I wanted it in writing to make the lease company respond. I’ve found doing all the chasing is the only option. |

My dealer updates is:
Essentially the second check is taking place on the battery. If the car passes it will be sent straight back to us, if it doesn’t then the battery will be replaced and then sent back to us. But no timescales! |

Minor update is that if a new battery is required it would be done at the distribution centre so at least it won’t be going back to the factory.
Availability of a new battery and lead time to fit are still a mystery! |

Sent an email to customer.information@bmw.co.uk with my VIN number, basically asking them to tell me when I would get my car.
Told them that the lack of any meaningful updates for over a month, has now lead me to regret my choice of car. I’ll see what happens! In other news the (lease company fitted) tracker on my car tells me that the odometer has increased by 0.4 miles since yesterday! Hopefully a sign that something is happening, it hasn’t moved since I first gained access. Last edited by AD2020; 09-17-2020 at 05:53 PM.. |

Mine is at the dealer and has been since the 1st week in August. My problem is the dealer actually doing anything to move this on. Up until now they’ve been claiming that they know nothing and are waiting on BMW UK to advise. I’m hoping that the 0.4 miles it’s moved is in a positive direction and towards me being able to get it. My fear is that it’s onto a transporter, for a ride to Doncaster and another delay at the back of the queue! |

Just checked my VIN number on the BMW recall site again.
Now I’m only seeing; “There is an open technical enhancement on this vehicle. Please go here to book an online appointment for your vehicle selecting "service as required" or contact your local retailer here for more information. Enhancement code STOP020700” The other “ There is an open safety related recall on this vehicle. Please go here to book an online appointment for your vehicle, or contact your local retailer here for more information. Recall code 0061560500.” Has now disappeared since yesterday! Wondering whether things are about to start moving! Anybody else got similar? |

@AD2020 yes mine has been updated as well. I received an email from my lease company saying my delivery will be on Friday 25th but I’m waiting on the dealer to confirm this as often the lease company just push the provisional date back by a week or two!
Fingers crossed we’ll both see progress this week! |

Neither thankfully!!!
Much nearer London and no smoke. Although I then sat for and hour on the M25 for a coach on fire. Good luck on your deliveries guys. Mine was stuck at Southampton for 2 and half months in lockdown so I feel your pain. |

Slight update;
I seem to have lost a “safety recall” over the weekend and now gained a “technical enhancement” “There is an open technical enhancement on this vehicle. Please go here to book an online appointment for your vehicle selecting "service as required" or contact your local retailer here for more information. Enhancement codes STOP020700, 0061430500” Anyone else noticed this? Hoping to find out more today with a call to the dealer. |
